The reviews haven't been wonderful. It's based on a book by the same name. The book is a favorite of many writers and, although the movie is faithful to the book and the performances are solid, I think the reviewers found the theme dated.

I don't always agree with reviewers, but, on this one, I'm waiting for the DVD.

I would like to go see this one, too, but, with the way things go around here, by the time we get around to the movies, it's out on DVD......LOL.

My friend went to see it and said the movie was depressing because all they do is argue during the movie. I haven't heard any good reviews either.

Go see Slumdog instead. It was very intense, but at the end of the movie you'll leave the theatre in a good mood dancing and singing *tally ho!*.

Go see Gran Torino. That was an awesome movie! The ending blew me away. Gives a person much to think about. Clint Eastwood was a hoot in the movie.

I took 3 teen girls to see Slumdog this past weekend, my other 2 choices were Gran Torino and Defiance. They wanted to see Bride Wars, I said that was a dvd rental movie & if I was gonna go against my cheap grain to pay for a movie it would be one that gave us all something to think about.
Am not a big Eastwood fan, but have heard so many good things about Grand Torino, can't wait to see it.

Haven't seen it but I've heard the performances are good but the story is depressing. I gather you don't leave the theater feeling happy that you just saw it. I'm itching to see Slumdog Millionaire -- I've heard it's worth seeing and has a good ending.

I went to see Revolutionary Road, just to see Kate and Leo. I wouldn't recommend this movie. The characters are arguing throughout the movie, shouting profanity at each other. It gets pretty boring after a while. I didn't connect to their characters so I didn't care what happened to them. The theme of hopelessness left me feeling depressed. My friend told me that Slumdog Millionaire is a great film.
