DD's 16th Birthday Planning Help!

Help with ideas please that will not empty my wallet. Our soon to be 16 year old DD wants alot of kids boys and girls over for a party. Our little ole ranch will not hold alot of kids. I have been researching rental houses in Va. Beach/Sandbridge and they are 3 night min. I really don't need 3 nights plus pretty costly. They would be nice, most have hot tubs, pool tables just really nice. Anyway any others creative ideas out there??!!

How about a hotel and pool party instead?

Can you rent a hottub? We have done that in the past for about $200. We don't have close neighbors, so we put it in the yard, food and music on the deck, lots of party lights strung around. We have also done a bonfire (again, if you are not right in town!) Lots of fun!!!

Can you rent a fire hall, church hall or social club? Think inexpensive wedding reception.

For food.....most hoagie/sub shops around here offer 6ft party subs for around 60.00. I'm lucky enough to have 2 shops that offer their regular hoagies, which are 14 in long, for about 6.00. I order 6 or 7 of those for 20 to 30 people, (you may need more), more than 6 ft and cheaper, and cut them each in to 8 pieces. Some hamb BBQ, potato, macaroni and pasta salad. Some nachos/chips and salsa, pretzels and chips and voila, a party that doesn't cost a fortune.

Until you add the DJ. Which is easily handled by renting a karaoke machine or giving one of the kids DJ duty.

You could rent a big TV from Rent-A-Center (or the hall might have one) and hook up a Wii or whatever.

Good luck!

Almost forgot....Super Walmart has huge hoagies really cheap!

How about the hotels down on Atlantic Ave. They are very cheap this time of year. We have a Cottage at North Landing Beach that will hold 8 people (one must be an adult) for $142 a night (I think that's the current price, I work there over the summer). North Landing is near the VA/NC border.

Walmart has a huge sub for less than 13.xx. We order it every year for the Super Bowl and its huge. It comes all the way.
