Obama Supporter Video

I know that there was a thread about this kind of attitude, but I can't find it. We got this youtube video in an email the other day and it just fit right in with what we were talking about.

YouTube - obama fan - doesnt have to worry about mortgage payments and gas anymore

Not quite sure how to insert links, so if this doesn't work it's worth a copy/paste.

Playing the devil's advocate here...
Perhaps what she meant when she made those statements was that she believed Obama would turn the economy around so she'd be able to keep or have a job to pay for those things and be able to get credit from banks?
It's hard for me to fathom that there are truly people out there who think that a president will be their sugar daddy and pay their bills. I know there are stupid people in the world, but sheesh, where on earth would that kinda thinking come from?
Are there any more places to find that kind of thinking?
Could this sort of stuff just be propaganda from anti-Obama folks to keep our nation polarized?
And no, I am *not* an Obama fan, didn't vote for him, I just don't believe everything I read, hear, or see on the net. I also know how sound bites and quotes taken out of context can tell 2 totally different stories.

She is saying that Obama will look out for the working class. What's wrong with that

Not an Obama supporter here, but I think she meant things would get better, with his help. Not that he would dismiss them.

regardless of what she meant...there are "crazies" on both sides of the aisle! Some people who have supported Bush scare the bejeebers out of me and so do some supporters of Pres. Obama!

And if you go looking for the nut jobs--you will find them!

Yes, I agree there are crazies out there from both major parties as well as other factions that are neither dem. or rep.
I just think that the woman's reaction/words on the video may have been taken out of context.
This jazz going around about folks thinking a prez will pay their bills is way out there to me, and I have yet to meet anyone who believes it to be true. The biggest Obama supporters I've met, from all walks of life, don't believe they won't hafta pay mortgages and other bills because their guy has a PA Ave. return address now.
Yet I keep reading about it in various places, and now this video shows up.
I'd like to know if the reporter asked the woman if she actually believed she would have someone pay her bills. and if so, what the woman's reply may have been. I woulda asked that question if I were the reporter, it seems to be the next logical thing to ask.
My main thought on this issue of Obama as sugar daddy, especially that video clip, is that it is devisive, just more politics as usual.

I agree. There are crazies in both parties. The Rep. crazies are out there buying all kinds of guns now because they're terrified that they'll all be banned in the first 100 days of office. (FIL happens to be one of the crazies on that side) He's buying 10's of 1000's of rounds of ammunition and has bought like 30 guns in the past 4 months. Some just to barter in case some kind of survival situation arises. So I'm not ignorant to the fact that there are people to the extreme on both sides.

I'm in the minority here though.. I think the girl being interviewed thinks she's actually going to be free of some of her obligations. And in all actuality she probably will. Obama's plan has so many programs that she will probably benefit from at least one... if not more.

More in the devil's advocate vein....
There are always gonna be folks who are irresponsible freeloading mooches. Do you think Obama has encouraged those who are like that (in order to get himself elected) or that it's just a fact of life that those sorts of folks will latch on to anyone who's promises seem to feed their kind of entitlement attitude? Is Obama perpetuating a nanny state type of mindset, or do some folks just always look for free ride, an easy way out of being responsible for their own lives and the choices they make? Are people mis-construing Obama's promises, or did he create (or feed) into that kind of mentality? And what if Obama's inexperience or naivety in his new job causes him to re-think his stand on issues and not make good on his promises? (it happens with every president, can't think of a reason Obama would be immune from it) If you are an Obama fan, what then? I hear a lot of folks thinking/saying that anyone is better than GWB, things couldn't get worse, but of course they can, they always can. Then what?
And how long are folks willing to wait for Obama to *make things better* for them? What exactly will have to occur in individual lives in order for them to think Obama has made their lives better? If I understand correctly, our economy is in a depression when the stock market loses 20% of it's value in a given quarter (economy experts, feel free to correct me or elaborate on this, I am by no means a pro on this subject). If that occurs during Obama's administration, what then? Will it be GWB's fault? What if it occurs 3 or 4 years from now? Will his supporters lose faith in what he, or the dem. party can or can not accomplish, or will they see it as a problem the last administration created that Obama couldn't remedy in 4 years or less? Isn't that what GWB supporters said about him when he was re-elected?
At the very least, we are living in interesting times, and I don't mean that in the Chinese curse way ;-)

I understood what she meant, and no, I don't think she meant that she would not have to pay her bills. I think the video is sad propaganda.

On another note, Fletchersmom.. count me in with you, I have a couple relatives that are doing the same thing (with the buying of guns and ammo)!!!!

I was shocked, to say the least, but am finding solace now knowing they are not the only ones!
