Question Does anyone else NOT watch the Super Bowl?

I guess I am lucky that my DH and I both would rather play a sport than watch it being played. Unless we are invited to a party (not this year), we don't watch things like the Super Bowl normally. We take advantage of it and go out with the kids to a place without TV's usually. Sometimes I go shopping at Best Buy and annoy the clerks who are trying to watch the game (I know...I am evil but it's fun sometimes).

It seems that around my area, we are the only ones who don't care to watch (which is maybe why we aren't invited to parties often...). We are thinking we might go to Applebee's this year for 1/2 price appetizers and at least watch some of it for the commercials.

So, anyone else just " not that into" the Super Bowl?

My husband went fishing and I have no interest in it! I will see the commercials later online if there are any good ones. I might DVR just to see Bruce.

I've never seen a football game in person (including high school).
I've never seen more than a few minutes of a football game on TV.
I've only gone to one Super Bowl party -- that was the only time I watched even a part of a Super Bowl game. Yawn!!!!

I'm not interested in football, either. However, we use it as a family event. It's the night the dds get excited to eat "junk" for dinner. In fact, 14 yo dd turned down a babysitting job tonight to hang with the family and eat "junk" for dinner. DH liked to watch the game, the rest of us like the commercials.

I wish they'd start it earlier or have it on a Saturday though. It's tough on a Sunday night.

My husband has yearly Super Bowl plans with "da boyz." But, I don't care unless a team in the game is local and the event is a community thing.

I will DVR it just to see the commercials. My dh doesn't like sports and since the Chargers are not in it I don't care who wins. I am going to go shopping and hope that everyone else is watching the game.

I don't care for football; I only watch if my home city is in it. My sport is baseball, only two more months to go.

Not me. I put a $5 bet on a pool at work just for fun with my chosen points at 59.5 to give everyone a laugh. That's as close as I get !

We're not watching it. Today is ds's birthday, we had family over and a big dinner and cake, but no TV.

I don't watch it and didn't even know it was on tonight, thought it was next week, till I heard something on TV earlier. I don't even know who is playing.
DH may turn it one once in a while to check the score if he is interested.
I don't know what time it is on but we have to be somwhere for a couple of hours tonight. I'll bet she will have it on tho. Won 't watch it, it will just be background noise to me. We will be stuffing envelopes and doing some other paperwork.

I like football but the only way I'll tune in to this broadcast is with the TV on mute. I absolutely abhor John Madden. He makes me physically sick to look at and his voice is worse than fingernails on a chalkboard. Why the networks have this man as an announcer is just beyond me.

Whew, glad I am not the only one! I have one boy and one DH and nope...no football (or any sports on TV for that matter!). We ended up going to Applebee's and were one of 3 tables there LOL Drank some beer (well, I did since DH was designated driver) and had some munchies. Watched about 30 min of it and then went to an electronics store and bought a TV for our bedroom. Saved $100 more than if we had bought it yesterday Plus, we were the only ones in there except the employees watching the game.

Dh and the kids & kids' friends are watching it upstairs, I loaded up w/3 dvd's to watch for the duration. I have come up occasionally to put in an appearance and spread more junk food around. I have never been a football fan, nor has dh been one. But a few years ago the kids wanted to watch and have friends over, so that's how it's been.
IMNSHO, soccer rules. Of course, having married a semi-pro soccer player in the 70's (loved those short shorts back then! ;-) has surely colored my preferences.

My roommate got an extra day's work today because no one wanted to work on Super Bowl Sunday.
What's the Super Bowl?
I attended every high school football game - I was in the marching band. At least then it was my friends who were playing. That was enough football for me!

I'm not really paying too much attention and really don't care who wins. I like Dallas and they aren't in so I just watch it. Mainly for the commercials though.

We didn't even turn the tv on tonight. I made some butterscotch chip cookies for the kids and diabetic chocolate chip cookies for hubby...

I don't watch it but it has nothing to do with us preferring to play sports rather than watch them. (Odd statement.) We play golf and tennis but will certainly watch players a zillion times better than we are on TV and enjoy their skill level.
