Powers that be: please create a politics board

It is obvious some just can't keep politics out of here. As has been specifically stated by a member here:

Seriously. If these political discussions could be moved to a dedicated board, it would benefit the entire community.

I believe it was removed after the inauguration.

I agree with the others, sometimes there are numerous political threads.

This past fall, mc did add "Election 2008" which they allowed virtually any political post to find a home thereon. It was deleted about a month or so after the election.

Yes, please give them a place for that. Keep it out of the cafe.

I guess I don't see what difference it makes, where we post political comments. Those of you who are uninterested don't have to open those threads and those who are can. I just ignore the posts that don't appeal to me, of which there are many.

Peace. Catherine

Kathy I do not want one either however if other members decide they want to continue to talk about politics then I would sincerely appreciate it taken place somewhere else and not here on the cafe, where we girls have way too many other issues to discuss.. Peace. Catherine

Not a problem to skip political threads, but since the demise of the Election Board, it seems as if there is a spillover of venegance and heated arguments and personality conflicts into many, many topics in the Cafe...often those that had nothing at all to do with politics.

It happened in the cafe even when we had a political board. People carried their anger from there to the cafe.

What I am saying is, it won't matter. The grudges will still be fought out in every venue, with some of the sickos following others around to other message boards or places on the net to dish out their "justice" and "hatred" for a targeted member.

I don't think there is a real answer, except to get rid of those that are hateful, which would probably be impossible.

OK, I'll try to be patient until the post-election bru-ha-ha blows over....

ROFL cj.. lol

I agree with you though. I think that if we have a venue for politics only, the discussions will be much more than they are now. Which will lead to more anger, hatred, fighting.. and that will bring more here to the cafe.

I guess Kathy in the end your right no matter what whether politics is discussed here or somewhere else within the mycoupons.com website the discussions will go back and forth between the forums. So as I decided not to mention either our new president or any old president or any politics, however I still feel it will be hard since the subject alone like religion sparks interest.Peace. I hear ya!
But, Catherine, I don't think it is a bad thing to discuss politics..not at all... I just think that some people get crazy about it.
I think that if everyone would just learn a little bit of chivalry, and appreciation for another's opinion.. we would be just fine. I guess

It's when you get people trying to control one another by banging their head against a brick wall trying to change their mind. Then if they can't, they resort to name calling, bullying, abuse, etc.Instead of just being polite and moving on.

There are a LOT of assumptions that lead to hard feelings. This can be with politics, peanut butter, crayons, night, day.. yadda yadda..

There just needs to be common courtesy and respect that everyone else is different FROM YOU. Plus, you have no idea why a person feels the way they feel, or WHAT may be going on in their life for them to have an opinion or feel/act the way they do. Who are we to judge that what another feels.. is really, ultimately wrong (as long as it is not morally or ethically wrong, but then again, by whose morals and ethics are you basing that on???).

Okay.. 'nuff said.. lol

Why are you just selecting my quote...I was just responding to other threads???? Its so funny how you all have bashed Bush for 8 yrs and now you dont want to hear it about Obama....If you want political discussions move, dont just use me as an example, there are plenty of political threads that didnt come from me, I just responded,,,something like you have done too...Use one of your own quotes....Sherri
