Let's Lighten the Mood!

Ok, this is a totally fluffy, happy post. Tell me at least one great thing that happened to you this weekend.

I reconnected with an old friend on Facebook and I went to Trader Joe's (my happy place)

Good idea. I'm having issues with another board on another site. It's time to lighten up!

I spent Saturday afternoon with my daughter at Gasparilla and we had a bunch of laughs. It was a nice break from reality.

I had great family time this weekend. Yes, we normally spend time as a family...but this weekend was full of laughs and smiles. Nothing better than that.

Great thread idea!

I had a huge catering gig this weekend (350+ ppl) and it went wonderfully! The hosts were very pleased with everything and we got a lot of compliments on our food and presentation.

and I'm glad that one is over- I was really nervous about it.

My DH has had to work 16 hour days for the past 3 weekends. He only had to work 7 hours yesterday so we got to go out to eat and spends some time with him. THAT was the best part of the weekend

We went out to eat with some friends on Saturday night and had a great time. My youngest son finally agreed to a haircut (I was going to make him get one anyway!). He didn't give me a hard time about it and it turned out nice. My daughter and I enjoyed sitting down and watching Desperate Housewives together last night. The weather has warmed up down here and I'm enjoying it. ~Lisa

P.S....Go Jr! If not Jr., then Tony!

Did you guys see the race Saturday night?? I felt so sorry for Jr. He wrecked and they are bugging him with questions... You could tell he was really irritated...
I am REALLY anxious to see joey Logano!

We ended up with Pit passes, garage passes and Gold Circle for Keith Urban! LOVE IT!!

My dh went to Italy Saturday for work (be back Thursday night), and my mom came up from Florida to stay with the girls and I. The girls were thrilled to have their Nana come visit, they only get to see her (and my dad too) over the summer for a few months. I know she'll do some cleaning for me and she'll have dinner ready for when I get home. I'll miss her when Friday comes and I'll have to do all that again!

(plus she brought the warmer weather with her!!! I told her I may not let her go home cuz we'll get more snow and crap.....)

I am leaving for Florida in the morning for a week, I can't wait! Also, totally unexpectedly I decided to sell some old jewelry back to a jewelry store today and walked out with a check for $600!!! I couldn't believe it. If you have any old broken chains or earrings, etc. dig them out and go sell them for some quick cash.

Yesterday it was 75 degrees out. After I got the kitchen walls primed, for painting, I went outside, sat on the deck and read my book while listening to the birds. It was bliss!!!!!

That sounds like so much fun!

It was gorgeous here too, yesterday AND today. (I LOVE the south!) Unfortunately the first part of the day I didn't feel all that well, but I did find about 1/2 hour to play with my new InStyler! (hair styler) Wooo hoooo, I'm livin' it up now...hehehehe

I convinced dh and the boys to venture inside the store "World Market" with me. This is a major accomplishment, as they all 3 are Wal-Mart, Target, and Kroger kind of guys. Was my first trip to a World Market, and I very much enjoyed it!

Got to hang out w/ my best friend of 20 plus years, Kellyboysmom Sunday afternoon. Even though we only live ten mins. apart, it seems so hard to get together lately. We were able to have a nice, leisurely lunch, and then go do some shopping (on a budget of course!). She is probably still laughing at me because I bought a VELOUR work-out suit. According to her, "Friends don't let friends wear velour." However, this friend was substitute gym teacher today, and it felt ABFAB (absolutely fabulous) walking around in school, in clothes that would normally be my pajamas! I have never been so comfortable in my life! And I must say, I looked pretty cute in my "active wear." Not a term I have ever used when searching for clothing, but hey, I am so all about the active wear now.

Been really busy with Cub Scouts these pass few weeks. We are getting ready now for the Blue and Gold Banquet (Cub Scouts Birthday). So far we have made the place mats, Pom Pom welcome critter ( the boys got a big kick out of making these ) and we'll finish the table center piece this week. It's been a blast doing these projects. The boy's have been really getting into making the table items.. We are crossing over from 4th grade Webelos to 5th Grade Webelos so I'm so excited that all the boys will be able to cross over this year. The boy's have no idea they have the Webelos badge we are planning a big surprise for them at the banquet. All they know is they are to be dressed in full uniform and it's required they attend the banquet ( they will be so excited to know they are getting the badge ) Shoot I'm excited and looking forward to seeing their faces and the surprise look when they are called on stage. It's been a exhausting but really fun last 2 weeks for us.

sunset beach, I was a den mother for 5 years. My ds is now a boyscout and this weekend we went skiing for the first time! We had a blast! A little....(very) sore but I am definitely going again next year. My ds went on all but 1 slope and even tried a few jumps Lol! I managed to get off the bunny hill and on to the ski lift and on an intermediate slope but it is alot of work for dear old mom. LMK if you need ideas for Blue and Gold. Maria

My state taxes came back today now I can get those fancy tires that have tread on them lol. That is good news and exciting to me. Yes I know I'm boring and get excited by little things. It's better that way I actually do get excited sometimes. If I only got excited at designer clothes, trips to exotic places and lottery winnings I would always be bored!

My good news is that I have made it safely to and from work the last two days without any mishaps.
Now that doesn't sound like much but this area just got dumped on with rain that froze and then was snowed on.
Again I know that doesn't sound like a big deal but add to it that fact that people here just don't know how to drive in snow/icy conditions.
So I am very happy when I arrive without incident.

WOW, Thats so cool bet you had a awesome time skiing !. We dont get to ski here living in the deep south doesn't snow and it's too costly to travel to a ski resort . We just did the Scout Sunday and Scouting for food so the boy's will also receive their badges for this at the B&G. I have been a Den Leader for 2 years ( well last year I was the Asst Den Leader and during Summer camp I had the Tigers.( he he that was a lot of fun, but I really love doing Webelos a lot better ).. Thank- You for the offer of help. This year we all voted to just stick to Blue and Gold theme. So the boy's did a blue and gold Pom Pom name welcome critter, they are doing the table lanterns with Webelos on 2 sides and the cubs scouts on the other 2 sides. I wanted to use the Fleur De Lis but changed my mind at last min and used the Webelos instead. turned out really good . The boy's didn't do the place mats as it had to be laminated and they are not allowed to use the machine because of the heat source it takes to seal the mats. So me and the hubby with my 12 yo DD and my 9 yo DS did them. It took us nearly a week to just cut, print, punch a border and seal them LOL. thought I was NEVER going to finish doing this., But I showed my Cub Master the mats and he seemed very impressed with them so maybe we did a better job than what I thought. . But everything is done for us all we need to do now is work on the banquet set up. I have to figure out away to get the boys ready to walk on stage w/o letting them know why they will be walking on stage. Thats going to take some figuring out. These boys are too smart at times for their own good.
Thank- You again for the offer. I'll keep you in mind if anything else comes up I'm needing ideas for.

We went tubing with 2 other familes that we don't see very often. It was a LOT of fun and the kids had a great time. Then after that we all went out for dinner. It's really nice to get together with friends.
