| So much for child psychology
I read an article in Parents (or some other mainstream parenting magazine that I somehow get for free but don't really care for) that talked about using reverse psychology. Like, for instance, if you want your child to put on their coat you act like you are putting it on, they will say "mine" and put it on, blah blah blah. So even though, as I mentioned, I don't put a lot of stock in parenting-type magazines, I decided to give this a try tonight. DD (22 months) was very cranky so I wanted to take her outside to play before bath, bed, etc, to put her in a better mood. I said, "Let's put on your shoes so we can go out and play." She ignored me and continued to play with the humidifier. I tried to put her in the chair to put on her shoes but she yelled and squirmed down and went back to the humidifier. So I put her little shoes on the ends of my feet and said, "I guess I will put on my shoes so I can go out and play. I am going to go out and play now." She looked at her shoes on my feet, looked at me square in the face, raised her little hand, waved, and said, "Bye bye." ![]() I laughed so hard my stomach started to hurt. ![]() ![]() That girl can call a bluff like no ones business. ![]() Share your kiddie funnies.
