As I posted on my other thread, I will be going with my son to California to see a specialist. His office is in Beverly Hills on Wilshire. I have a credit on Jet Blue so I'd like to use it to fly there, but they don't go to LAX. They go to the airport in Burbank instead. Is this very far from Beverly Hills? Also, what is the area surrounding the airport called since I'd like to find a hotel near the airport because I think it might be cheaper. Any help would really be appreciated.

According to Google, Burbank is 13.2 mi – about 31 mins from Beverly Hills. I assume it depends on the time of day that you're traveling too.

You'd want to see where Metrolink goes. I know there's a train station near the airport, and one within walking distance of a Holiday Inn downtown (you can walk all sorts of places from there), but I'm not familiar with other hotels, or Beverly Hills. Anyway, see how far you can get with the train and comfy shoes. I miss that place sometimes.

I travel through the Burbank airport quite often. Use priceline to book your hotel in Burbank at the airport. It is very cheap and they have decent hotels. There is a great BBQ place in Burbank, as well. You can sometimes find gift certificates on ebay. Go to these websites to read up about Burbank/Glendale area for your best deal on priceline and how to bid, what star level and name of hotel. You could even stay at the Beverly Hills Residence Inn for only $62 a night winning bid, if you are lucky. But I do know that Burbank airport wins are easy and cheap.

He meant it's not really anything to get excited about --just another part of the LA urban sprawl.

It's not a long drive from Burbank to Beverly Hills. I am from Pasadena.
