I have been having chronic sinus problems and have used a NETI Pot on and off for the last three years, when the sinus gets too bad. I never had any trouble using it, except sometimes it would go in my ears. Anyhow, this last bout has been going on since between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have been trying to use the pot and nothing will come out the right side after a few seconds. It will start out and then a few seconds later, nothing-like it is blocked. (Has anyone ever had that happen)? Been going on like that for the last couple months. I just completed a round of anti-biotics and it hasn't done anything. The doctor can't see anything, last spring I saw an ENT, and I have taken tons of Claritan D and Mucinex which she suggested. Some days the pain and pressure get to me so much.(Can anyone else suggest something that I might could try?) TIA

If I were you.. I wouldn't use the neti pot while nothing is coming out.. you must be totally blocked.

I would drink lots and lots and even more lots of water to loosen the mucus. Also drink hot teas.
I would also eat some very spicy food. That always makes my nose run. I buy the Harissa hot sauce and use it in my food when I feel like my sinuses need it. Eat horseradish.. or wasabi.. those are good for making everything run. When you feel things moving again then do the neti.. and do it a couple of times a day to wash all that gunk out.

I believe you need to make an appointment with the ENT. Chronic sinusitis may require surgical intervention, especially if you have polyps in the sinuses. Early treatment may prevent a course of surgery. A deviated septum may also be the culprit to reoccurring sinus infections.

Thanks for the info. I had seen an ENT and they can't seem to find anything except bad allergies and sinus problems. No deviated septum, no polyps, etc. But the meds don't seem to help.

I shouldnt have looked to see what one was! youtube isnt good to have sometimes lol!
