Valentine's surprises

Who got any?
DH & I don't generally give gifts, maybe a card if either one of us remembers. We always give the kids some kinda V-Day sweet, but that's the extent of it.
This year DH surprised me with actual gifts, outta the blue!
And the gifts were <insert Twilight Zone Theme Music> so apropos it was eerie.
He gave me a new bird feeder to replace the one that a storm demolished outside our DR, and a finch thistle sock. I had hoped to get more bird feeders for my last b'day, but alas, it was not to be.
So this gift shows me that the man actually has been listening to me, something any wife can understand and be touched by when it occurs.
And... there is a recent thread here about another MC'er who a pic published on a bird counting page. The kids and I have had all sorts of fun with that thread and the site, but DH has been outta town, he had no idea about it. (though he does know the kids, but more moi-self, are really into watching the birds that visit us). I wondered if the kids had told him about this, so I asked when he got the bird feeders - and it was on his way home before he'd spoken to any of us.
What an ever lovin' sweetheart that man is.
No jewelry or candy or flowers or anything else woulda been more of a surprise or a better way for him to show his love for me. ( I'm easy to please and a cheap date ;-)
He *always* wins the unspoken *who gives the best gift contest* twixt us, so I just had to try and come up w/something as good for him, even though we don't normally try to make any kinda deal outta V-day.
He told me I won!
What I did was to surprise him and take him to see one of *his* movies (Taken), the kind I make him go to by himself or get on DVD cuz I simply can't stomach em. I have gone to a few of those types of movies w/him over the years, but have never lasted through the entire movie, have always had to leave at some point and he had to finish the movie by himself. But for this one, even though I was ready to jump outta my skin, I not only went with him, but stayed for the entire thing.
Ahhhhh, it was so gratifying to see how much it pleased him.
Yes indeedy do, love is in the air here this V-day weekend ;-)

I didn't get a surprise he took me out to a nice meal that is what we had planned along with a "Sunday drive".
I got him two pair of Valentine boxers and a pair of Valentine pajama pants along with a great romantic card.

We had fun!

Wait I did get a surprise my husband kind of personalized the Keith Urban "Sweet Thing": video for me!
