Anyone been to Italy?

I am going in April. What are the "must sees"? I am going down by Naples.
Thanks!

Yes, I lived in Sicily. I would say, in the area you are going to, definately plan a day for Pompei and wear good walking shoes. The Amalfi Coast is beautiful.

I went to Italy but it was 1972 so other than the Vatican which I really did not truly appreciate at ten years old I can't really recommend anything. We spent most of the six weeks at my Aunt's house anyway. We are from Southern Italy, Castelsilano.

Capri, Naples, and Pompei. You will not be far at all from Rome, so you must spend at least one day there. I spent a whole summer in Italy, believe it was '83 or '84, working for a discount travel company. Back in the day, alot of our passengers got mugged in Naples. Back then, it had some very tough areas- I do not know if that still holds true.

We haven't been yet. A friend of ours is moving to Naples for 2 years. I am reading the Rick Steves travel books and DH is learning Italian with Rosetta Stone. We hope to go for 10-15 days and see Naples all the way to Venice...including Rome and Tuscany.
