I was diagnosed today with mini strokes. I knew before I went to the drs that is what I was having. Here are the symptoms I was having.
A month ago while shopping my daughter said I was talking NUTS that I
had talked funny in front of the lady that works in the store and that the lady looked at me strange. I knew what I had said and didn't believe her.
Then my ballance seemed to be off a step or two then I would catch myself and straighten right up and walk perfectly.
Then my hands and feet started swelling which had never happened in my 61 years and then I got a headache and I never get them. The following night at work one of my teenage co workers said wow you can speak in tongues! He wanted to know what I had been trying to say and I felt like a circus act because he was laughing so hard. I was totally embarrased.
A few people had asked me "are you ok" recently. I put all the symptoms together and went on the internet with my suspissions<sp> and sure enough it said call 911immediately. I went to the dr today and he said with medication we can prevent a major stroke but we have to start medication immediately.
So if anyone is having strange symptoms please do a interntet search and then run to the doctors.

Yep, slurred speech, lopsided smile, balance problems, limpness of one side, etc... Glad you got it figured out and can be proactive now. Good luck!

I'm so glad you were able to catch this before it progressed to having a stroke (the chances of having a stroke after having a TIA is really high.) I totally missed my TIA's but I knew what had happened when I had the stroke. Even on meds I've had some TIA's - one bad one while on aspirin only, several small ones while on Plavix with aspirin and just one while on Coumadin. Good luck!
