OMG!! This woman infuriates me. You KNOW you're having at least 7 babies and you stop paying your mortgage payments. This just proves to me that her plan was to use the babies as *income*.

I'm a little confused....

Her mother owns the home....Do they all live in it together, or does the daughter (octomom) live in by herself?

'Vegetarian' is an old Native American word for bad hunter.

I read that her mom bought the house for her, and then later went bankrupt and had to move in with her. Either way, she wasn't paying house payments knowing that she's going to have a brood.

Did she plan this all along and hope that assistance would come her way, or was she on bedrest and in the hospital for so long that all of her bills were overlooked? Whatever reason, things should have been taken care of in advance to make sure something like this didn't happen. I wonder if she has any idea that people, in general, are infuriated by her story and are not so eager to help. It seems like she is absolutely counting on financial help. It will be interesting to learn just how much money she gets, and I think it will be far less than what she is hoping for.

I agree, Crittles. I think she thought she was going to be showered with gifts, maybe given a home (weren't the sainted McCaugheys?), covers of Good Housekeeping, visits from Diane Sawyer, etc., etc. She forgot that (1) not everyone thinks the McCaugheys are good people and (2) it's a very different mood in the country now than it was ten years ago. I'm sure she knows people aren't impressed with her -- after all, think of the death threats she and her PR person have received!

This story would be completely different if she had a traditional family with a husband. They would be viewed as the "All-American Family" struggling to get by with so many children. Certainly, she would be showered with all kinds of gifts, money, cars/vans, college tuition, even a house. But, the fact that she is single, and already has six children, people are outraged and disgusted with her and questioning why?. If she had a husband, they could possibly explain that they just wanted one more, and that is why they chose to undergo the treatment. Alone, she has no logical explanation to answer why she decided to have this tremendously large family all on her own. The way this story is unraveling, I think everything is going to backfire on her. I do not feel bad for her, but the children will surely suffer.

"Octomom" does not own the home, her Mother the babies Grandmother owns the home and she stopped paying the mortgage in May of last year, still there is no excuse I think the whole family is a bunch of lying connivers wanting hand-outs from anyone and everyone and its ridiculous it really is.

I don't even think that's the biggest reason folks have such huge negative reactions to her situation. I think as the story has unfolded and reports of her not even being able to support the first six, her mother being the first 6 kids' primary caretaker while she remains unemployed, and her receiving public assistance but somehow having the $$$ to pay for all the IVF treatments is what outrages folks more than the fact that she decided to do this *alone*.

She actually never has done it alone cuz she always knew she'd have her parents to help.

Many folks nowadays are struggling just to provide the basic needs to their families, families who have limited their sizes because as responsible adults they have thought about the resources needed to care for however many children they already have. It's hard to relate to someone like Ms S, especially during these frightening economic times.

She has been caught in quite a few important lies and nobody likes liars, period.

The *sperm donor* has not been heard from which makes folks like me wonder how truthful she's been about his part in this situation.

She comes off as arrogant when interviewed. I think folks might be less critical of her if she displayed a bit of humility. ( though, still....) She also comes off as shockingly unrealistic about parenthood/parenting and seems to believe she's an expert on kids due to her degree in the field of child behavior. It's shocking for folks to think that when they need the help of someone with her kind of education they could end up with someone like Ms S, someone who could do more harm than good to kids.

If she had a job that could support her first six kids, if she had a good support system already in place with the first 6, I don't think I'd view her as negatively as I do. IMNSHO,the fact that's she's single has less to do with ill will towards her than how little she cares about her first 6 kids and anyone else in her life who won't revere her as the paragon of motherhood she believes herself to be.

Then add in the creepy Angelina Jolie stuff and the fact that's she's single is the least outrageous thing about her story.

I saw her mom interviewed and asked if she thought Ms S paid for the sperm. Her mom said that she didn't think she paid for anything, *she can be very persuasive*. She overestimated her powers of persuasion with her parents with this last pregnancy and now w/out their support she's tiny a desert island filled with kids. She said she wanted to do it alone, now she's getting what she asked for and can't understand why folks are so *mean*.
Sheesh.

Just the way she interacts with the press and that stupid smile on her face show her true colors. When you see "real" celebrities they just go on their way for the most part and if you didn't know better you would not even know there were 100 people with cameras about two inches from them.

She makes me vomit. She is a pimp a low class pimp that couldn't even pimp whores so she is pimping little innocent children. I want to slap the bitch right in her swollen face.

Ok, this will probably get deleted, and normally I would find the following offensive, but it REALLY tickles my funny bone. Some websites are referring to Ms. Suleman as "Octop***y" - remember the James Bond movie? But of course, I agree with everyone that the real losers in this tale are the children.

If this woman had a way to support her giant brood on her own then I wouldn't be upset. I'd think she was nuts and pity the kids because I think families that big lack in personal attention but I wouldn't be outraged.

But having all these kids with no way of supporting them and seemingly expecting strangers and the taxpayers to foot the bill for your choices fries me.

I hope they get kicked out and the kids get taken away and adopted by people who will actually love them, not just treat them as part of some sick collection.

Again I personally do not feel sorry for this women one bit. I do however feel sorry for all her children, she is totally selfish to have brought that many children into the world. While she is a sick person with many mental health issues. No husband, no job, no future. But as we all know there will be plenty of people and huge corporations who will offer donations of all kinds to her. Simply put not fair, in todays hard ecomonic times, there are millions of American families, who have many children. They are not receiving help and hand outs and donations not fair one bit...Catherine

I saw on t.v. last night that reporters (I think this was on TMZ and maybe in the link above also) had caught her out shopping for cosmetics. She bought a $15 MAC lipgloss and something else they said (oh they said she had her nails done--what a trip). They showed her in the store making the purchase and also spoke w/her while she was getting into the car. She needs her head examined. That would have bought a lot of generic diapers (well, some anyway). I heard the big companies aren't touching her due to all the negative publicity. I'm guessing she must be getting tons of donations on the website though.

I am a mom of 4 and I personally can't understand how in the world this woman has any extra time (or money) at all to go shopping for of all things lipgloss. She has all those babies still in the hospital and then 6 more still at home. Add in all the silly interviews she's doing and I just can't figure out when she finds all this time? I'm doing good to jump on the computer late at night/early a.m. for a little 'me' time. I don't know anyone w/kids in the hospital that have time to go out 'me' shopping for sure (you know what it's like when you have a loved one in the hospital, it's go to the hospital, come home, rinse-repeat--especially if it's your child and you're exhausted just doing this). Who is taking care of the kids while she's doing all this--the grandma, the nanny? I hope the reporters do more investigating of this woman. I am very highly suspicious that there is a lot more to this story...

About the foreclosure thing--there is a story going around the Internet that this is the 3rd home that this family has been foreclosed on. Whether it's true or not I don't know of course, but several websites are talking about it. Wonder how they keep getting loans? Sure we'll hear more in a few days.

No, that's Dr. Phil that is renting the 1.24 million dollar home for his 'exclusive' interview with her. I swear -- if he gives that woman money and a big van (or bus) for those kids, I'll never watch his show again. Why in the world would he rent a mansion just for an interview? Is he letting her live in it for a while???

Sorry but he comes off as being a almighty man who truly thinks he knows it all and has no faults and his wife is so phony, they are not real people. I watched a show called J and M sorry dont know what the J and M stands for as I'm not a morning talk show type of person. But any hoot, They said the other family that has a lot of kids it took 50 PEOPLE A WEEK to care for them HOLY CRAP !!. They said with having 14 and 10 being under the age of 2 it will take no less than 75 people a week ! OMG, Who will be paying these people ? or will they even get paid ?? Will the state pick the tab up, you know like when a nurse comes in to care for someone ??. Also They said she went showing at Nordstrom ( sorry I dont even know what that is ), But that she was spending a lot of money of stuff for HERSELF ! OMG that just pisses me to no end to know she was shopping for herself.

Then I was channel surfing and turned to Dr. Phil ( which BTW I cant stand him and NEVER watch his show, his voice is like nails on a chalk board to me ) But robin ( his wifes name I think ) he asked people to carry all the car seat that will be needed to drive the kids around and it was 12 car seats and 2 booster seats . He also was questioning the fact that how will she get all 14 kids to the doctors, appointments shopping etc she would need a bus in order to do this. But back to robin, She said there was 26,000 children in foster care and only 400 people to over see them .

I do however, see Dr.Phil giving to this nut case. He has always been the type to think he can save the world. I also see people buying her a bus or what ever it will take for cart her children around. Renting or donating a home for them to live in, food, diapers, clothing etc Hell this was what she wanted to start with. So yes I see it myself, But I think if people want to do this thats their right, But I would hope they would send only diapers and food for the kids. Nothing for this nut case.

I wish people did these things for me when I was a SINGLE mom working trying to get by on 10.00 a week for food for me and my dd. I had to pay a babysitter, gas, insurance for my car, rent, lights and everything else that goes with living. I NEVER got food stamps, housing or even so much as a Christmas basket or Thanksgiving basket for the holidays.
