Talking Farmer's Market

We have a small one in town every Friday. I stopped by this morning to see if they had any tomatoes. I bought two beef steaks and the biggest of the 2 weighs a pound and a half!

Most of their items (strawberries, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, etc.) are locally grown. I hope this tastes as good as it looks.

Ours is closed until May I think it is. The last few years they haven't been very good. I get better (and cheaper) stuff at the organic section of King Soopers. I love to support local farmers but not when it's 3X more and doesn't look as good

Just wanted to add that we had some of the giant tomato with supper and it was so good!!

Now I wish I'd bought more than just two. I'll be back down there next Friday to pick up a bunch more.

Are beefsteaks a type of tomato? If they are, that is one huge tomato!

I love fresh produce. It is always so much yummy. We have a farmer's market here but it doesn't start up until summer months.

Our Farmers Market is open year round too but it's a trek up their. We also have one in town...just a few farmers selling their produce. Can't wait till they return for the season.

my aunt used to grow vegetables for a farmers market in Pine Bluff, thats how they made their living. I have found memories of seeing just how big and juicy those beefsteak tomatoes would grow. those were so good, thanks for bringing back some good memories

I sell at a local Growers/Farmers market and while we are open 1 week a month in winter are "season" starts the first week in May. We are already starting seeds in the house for transplanting and spending both days on weekends in the garden. Thank you to all who buy from us , yes some times we may be a little more but in my case remember it was picked the day before and not trucked in from across the country. Selling at market is lovingly called my summer job as I also work for the local school and my husband also works full time . Growing is a labor on love for us... hope to see you all at market
