No kidding! When we bought our new oven, the guys who delivered it removed our old one. There had to be at least 12 toys under there! We were all laughing and the cats were scrambling to retrieve their long-lost favorite.

In our house, they end up under the entertainment armoire and in the coat closet

Mine are always under the Entertainment Center and my couches(we have tile floors so they slide easily under all the furniture). My old cat(no longer with us) used to LOVE the little pom poms you use for crafts dipped in catnip. She would carry those things all over BUT I would find them under the dryer, stove and sons dresser.

In my parents house theres a little space between the fridge and the wall and thats where the one cat, Rhoda, puts all her toys. You know a mouse is stuck when she sits next to the fridge and meows. My dad has a yardstick he uses to reach back in there and flick the stuck one out. Nevermind that the cats have a gazillion other toys/mice. Rhoda has her favorites and when they're stuck, she wants it out NOW.

When DH & I first got married, we were given a small 'portable' freezer (kind of like those little cube dorm room refrigerators) because our apartment fridge didn't have a freezer. When we moved, we took the freezer with it -- underneath it was a whole collection of cat toys. My dad helped up move and thought it was terribly funny how many cat toys and other small items were under the freezer. Now, I find cat toys under the china cabinet, in the coat closet and on the basement landing (there is a door that is usually closed). |

A couple of times a year we grab a stick and drag all the cat toys out from under the couch, stove, and a few other pieces of furniture they like to collect under. We have 7 cats currently, and I'd estimate I could pull at LEAST 24 cat toys out from under the couch alone. One time we bought an entire paper bag of little pompom type balls - they were on sale, we bought like 50 - I can find 3 of them right now. Which means 47 of those are somewhere under furniture - and that doesn't include all of the other toys we've bought over the past 12 1/2 years we've lived in the house.

I stopped buying the toys. My cats were just as happy with the ring off the milk jug. They are free and when I moved the furniture, no big deal, I just swept them up and threw them away. The cat got about 2 new toys a week, he was happy! I now have to throw my milk rings away though. We left my cats with my parents when we moved a couple years ago. Then I had a baby and found out that she is terribly allergic to cats. Makes me sad. I miss their spunk.

i just cleaned out the hall closet this week, and found a ton of beat up mice and a few feather sticks. The baby's taken to smacking a feather stick on the ground, which the cats love, so I guess finding them has made everyone happy.
