Why when DH is sick, does he feel the need to revert back to 2 years old!

UGH! Is this just my DH? Or is this men in general?

We have all been sick. 4 of the kids had colds w/ sore throats, one also had an ear infection, another had a sinus infection, and one also had additional issues with his asthma. The other 2 kids had the stomach flu. Today is the first day they are all back in school. Two day ago, I started to get sick too. I have no voice left, my throat is killing me, have a hacky cough, and I just hurt all over. Does the world stop revolving because I'm sick? Do I get to just sit down and do nothing all day? DH started getting sick yesterday afternoon, and he has not moved, and has "ordered" his blankets, pillows, food, drinks, etc. His whining is driving me insane more than anything else.......I understand not feeling good, but grow up already!!!!!

am I over reacting since I don't feel good too?

Oh.. definately not just your hubby. I think men in general are whiners when they do not feel well.

The very few times that I get sick.. DH thinks the world has ended. He is still hungry, needs something... lets the kids come talk to me... wants to know what i'm doing etc.

He gets slightly ill. and the house has to go into shut down. No noises.. just bringing him stuff, and he will milk it for DAYS!!!!! Men always one up women on stuff like that.

As mom's we are programmed to keep on going, even when we feel bad.. kids still have to go to school, clothes have to be washed etc.. we just do it.

My dh is also a terrible baby when he is sick. He has the "flu" a couple times a year even though I tell him a runny nose and sore throat is a cold not the flu lol.

I guess I am really lucky.
My DH just wants to be left alone when he is sick.

Doesn't want anyone "do anything" for him! My SIL says that his brother needs pampered for a hangnail.

Glad to see that I'm not alone! My DH is also a big baby when he's sick. He's had some sinus surgeries in the past and dental surgery...you would have thought he was on his deathbed. I do believe when they say that if men had to give birth, they would only have one child. They would never be able to take it. If I'm ever sick I could lay up in bed for days before anyone would check to see if I was still alive. While I prefer to be left alone when I'm sick, it would be nice if someone around here asked me if I wanted a glass of water. As Moms we take care of everyone else...shame that most times it isn't reciprocated. ~Lisa

You are not alone! I know EXACTLY how you feel. Didn't you know that moms are not allowed to be sick. . .EVER!

Q: Why do little
boys whine?

A: They are practicing to be
men.

Oh Lord this is not the day to be asking this! My DH is home sick for the second day in a row - he is going to the doctor today. Sinus, congestion, coughing etc. He is the biggest GROUCH when he is sick. Uh okay but don't be cranky at me - it is not MY FAULT you are sick!

This is my hubby too. I do take him some food/drink because he won't do it for himself but he never asks for anything. He just doesn't *do* anything. When I am sick, I still have to work at least a couple of hours (I am self employed), get the kids ready for school, pack their lunches, take them and pick them up from school and then shuttle them to karate or piano or whatever. Life doesn't stop because I am sick. Men in general are just helpless blobs when they are sick. I am lucky I don't have a whiny one. My dad is a huge baby when he's sick and so is my brother. Glad I don't have to help take care of them anymore
