Unhappy It's over

Ziras fought the good fight to the very end. It's almost as if he knew what was in the needle, but at last, his suffering has ended. He died at 10:01 this morning.

Thank you so much for your support and for helping me find the courage to do what needed to be done. He will always be a part of my soul.

I am so very sorry for your loss. You did right and the time was right.
Just remember the time you had with Ziras, and what Ziras has done for all.
When you are around your home, Ziras will be with you, look for the signs, Ziras will not leave you and let you know when Ziras is around.

I have had to do it for 6 animals so far and have 3 more at home.
My Bandit had Lymphoma, a lump in the wall of her stomach, when the time was right, I knew, and when she went to the vet, she handed her paw to my vet.
Gosh I can't type right now. Every time it brings it back for all even my dog who has passed 14 years ago.

Ziras is in a better place then us, Ziras will be there when you pass and greet you. Just remember animals pass over much quicker and easier than humans their souls are so pure its is a quick and easy pass.

It's hard, does time heal, I'm not sure some say yes, I may beg to differ.

I totally understand you were not selfish, Ziras let you know when.

My prayers are with you and your family .

I'm crying as I read this. I'm so sorry for your loss.

We have an appointment set for Saturday morning for our little dog, Mo. Tomorrow is his day for just the two of us. He loves soapy warm baths because his little body is so old, so I'm going to give him a long warm bath. I bought him his favorite chew bone today and he's enjoying it right now.

But he just fell going down the steps to go outside, ran into the side of my car (almost blind) and I had to carry him back up and then put his diaper back on.

Yes, it's time.....

Oh, how sad. I've been through this several times myself. They are so much a part of the family and missed so much.

May you find peace in the coming days with beautiful memories of your beloved dog.

"Farewell, Master, yet not farewell
Where I go, ye, too, shall dwell..
I am gone, before your face.
A moment in time, a little space.
When ye come where I have stepped
Ye will wonder why ye wept."

aaww hugs to you. I know what you are feeling, been there and it still hurts 2 yrs later. You did the right thing by letting him go. Not an easy decision to make.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

FROM FRIEND TO FRIEND

You're giving me a special gift,
So sorrowfully endowed,
And through these last few cherished days,
Your courage makes me proud.

But really, love is knowing
When your best friend is in pain,
And understanding earthly acts
Will only be in vain.

So looking deep into your eyes,
Beyond, into your soul,
I see in you the magic, that will
Once more make me whole.

The strength that you possess,
Is why I look to you today,
To do this thing that must be done,
For it's the only way.

That strength is why I've followed you,
And chose you as my friend,
And why I've loved you all these years...
My partner 'til the end.

Please, understand just what this gift,
You're giving, means to me,
It gives me back the strength I've lost,
And all my dignity.

You take a stand on my behalf,
For that is what friends do.
And know that what you do is right,
For I believe it too.

So one last time, I breathe your scent,
And through your hand I feel,
The courage that's within you,
To now grant me this appeal.

Cut the leash that holds me here,
Dear friend, and let me run,
Once more a strong and steady dog,
My pain and struggle done.

And don't despair my passing,
For I won't be far away,
Forever here, within your heart,
And memory I'll stay.

I'll be there watching over you,
Your ever faithful friend,
And in your memories I'll run,
...a young dog once again.
(c) Karen Clouston

So sorry for your loss. I truly know how you feel.

Unhappy

Omg ladies those 2 poems friend to a friend and the rainbow bridge I am total tears now. I am remembering my 2 shelites in doggy heaven Bambi and Merlin and my Collie when I was younger my Sandy girl who lived for 17 years.. Those poems are so sweet so beautiful and the words are priceless and so true... To mom2twins2 I am so sorry for your sadness and your baby as well, my heart goes out to you as well..I offer a sincere prayer for you and your entire family..Op you did the right thing, I remember when I took Bambi she never ever liked the vet, however it is so truem that day she jumped in the back of my truck. My mom came with me and she walked right into the vet. I honestly believe she knew and wanted to go because she was in so much pain from rectal cancer.I held her paw and her head and she simply went to sleep no more pain. Ok I gtg crying too much now.. God bless all our pets and everyone here.. Peace. Catherine

I'm so very sorry, but at least you can rest easy knowing you did not only the right thing, but the righteous thing. We pet owners owe our animals this - a comfortable end at the right time. You'll be in my thoughts.
