Fess Up - Who still has their Christmas decorations up?

I was driving around today...and can't believe how many people still have their outdoor Christmas decorations up! It's March already (ok, not quite, but a few more hours...)!!

Do you still have your decorations up? What's up with that? Icicle lights just don't look that great hanging from the roof in the spring!

Oh, CJ, you got me...

We still have our four wreaths hanging from our 2nd floor windows...

I meant to take them down today ... I can't believe I didn't, but only when I read your post did I remember what I had forgotten...LOL...

Anyway - I realize it's Lent, and I have my stuff still up from Christmas, but I'm not even the only one on my street! The difference between myself and my two neighbors is that I don't call attention to mine by lighting them up! They really still do!!

I can't be the only MC'er on here, though...am I?

No, Devinmom, you aren't the only MC'er who still has Christmas decorations up. I still have the tree up in the family room. It's un-decorated, but I haven't taken it down and packed it away. I had really planned to do it today, but I finished our taxes instead. I will definitely do it tomorrow. (Now that I think about it, I still have a few Santas sittting out on the China hutch as well.)

But we did go out to dinner tonight with BIL and SIL and passed a house that still had their tree up and lit. Mine hasn't been turned on for at least a month and a half. And besides, it's a new tree this year and it just "fits" the corner of the room "so perfectly"!!!

I have to tell you, I couldn't put my decorations away fast enough this year-bahhumbug on me....That being said, while they are all down, they are not neccesarily put away. I just love the giant rubbermade container effect in the corner of my bedroom...

Hey, linnybop. I love that look too. I had it in the corner of my living room for a week or two as well before I talked DH into carrying the stuff down to the basement. (Yes, I did get the tree and decorations out of the living room at the beginning of January, just not the tree in the family room. I have a tree in the living room which faces the street for the neighbors and traffic to see and, this year for the first time, another one in the family room for us to enjoy.)

Okay, I'll admit it. I still have a 4 ft. tree (ornaments and all) up in my living room. I've had the flu and haven't felt like taking it down, besides my husband is still having fun playing with the ornaments. LOL.

Awwww....now you ladies that are admitting this are actually the LAST people that I'd expect to not be on top of this situation!! devinmom, I hope those wreaths are artificial and that you're not one of those people who have dead brown wreaths still hanging. Oh, the shame of it!! LOL I think this is perfect work for the honey-do list.

my dd still has hers up. She is 19 and works 2 jobs and she still has most of her indoor decorations up. She bought her house the end of Oct and put them up because she had so much from clearance the year before and she really does not have too much stuff to decorate her house with so she left it all up. She did take the decorations off the tree but the tree is still there. Her friends told her she should just do a theme tree for every holiday ie.. hearts, shamrocks, easter eggs, little american flags..etc.. I told her once it hits a certain point she might as well just leave them up.

I wonder if the lady with the 37 Christmas trees has gotten them put away yet? I believe her niece posts on these boards? YouTube - Woman that has 37 christmas trees

We got everything put away on January 6 (Three Kings Day). We don't go overboard on decorating and have a small house so it only takes a few hours.

Spring is almost here!!! LOL, you silly people!

My parents still have the lights up on the front porch but they do not turn them on.

Luckily you can't really see them unless you're standing on the porch.

I will admit we have a few up still but only because they are frozen into the ground and we can't get them up lol. We have tried digging out the stakes but the decoration is frozen to the ground and if we pull any harder it will destroy it.

It is snowing again today so I don't see them coming up anytime soon. All of the decorations that were in the sunny part of the yard are down but the ones that are in the shade will be there for awhile.

My tree and inside decorations were down the day after Christmas.

Funny you post this because DH & I were just commenting on this this weekend. Our neighbors and few others in the subdivision still have the lights on the street trees. And when we were picking up a friend of dds in their subdivision, we saw a couple with Christmas lights still in their bushes and they were on!

We put ours up the weekend after Thanksgiving and by the time Christmas is over with I'm over the whole holiday! We take them down New Years Day at the latest, it's usually earlier!

It's been so cold and snowy here this winter that even the neighbor who is aces at taking her stuff down still has all her lights and decorations up. We didn't have our January thaw till Feb., and I think most folks used that brief respite to get outside and do other things.
Mine have long since been put away, but many folks around here still have em up. Maybe mine are put away cuz it doesn't take us as long to do it with all the kids helping as it it would with just one or two adults to do the job ;-)

That's funny you mention it CJ, because as I was going through town, I noticed quite a few homes that still had their stuff up!

As far as us, everythings been put away since the second weekend in January and that was way too long!

Ours are down but a few neighbors still have theirs up. A few people in town have the LED icicle lights up year round and they look really pretty at night. Lights are one thing but other obvious xmas stuff should be taken down

No, ours is put away but I still see decorations up around town and DH sees some trees still up and lit on the way to work.

My neighbors have a Santa welcome sign up. Another couple just took those lighted reindeer down 2 days ago!

I have removed the Valentine decorations and I have the St Patrick's day decorations on the doors now.

Mine are still up outside because my dh has to use a latter to get them down and there is too much snow on the ground and they are frozen. They are not turned on and there are alot of houses around me with them still up.
