Face painting question

I used to have a face painting kit that I got at a home stamp show. Someone needs to borrow it and alas, the last person that borrowed it never returned it. All I can find is a dried up ink pad that says temporary body ink. I have no clue what type of ink to use or if there are certain pencils you can use. I know I have seen some being used at different things. Does anybody have a clue what to do? TIA

I got a set at a party shop. They look like a crayon and are super easy to use. Plus they last forever!

I also now opt for the crayons. I think they're cleaner - less likely to grow bacteria, like the little paint vials that you repeatedly put the paint brushes back into. If you're using the crayons on a new face, you can just write across your napkin a bunch of times, and I think you'd be removing the germy surface. At least it makes sense in my head...
