I did. I am 20 weeks pregnant and having a boy! What a shock considering just last January I had my tubes tied, got off the pill in April, and what?? prego in October. Just wonderinng if this has ever happened to you - and how long after your surgery did it happen. I had the essure procedure where they put coils on your tubes and you build up scar tissue so nothing can get past!

I haven't had my tubes tied yet but when I was pregnant with my little one, I asked my OB/GYN about that procedure and she didn't seem very positive about it... mostly because of the mess and hassle it takes to make sure your tubes are closed up?

My husband got fixed and I think this year I'm going to go for getting my tubes tied just to make SURE lol

wow, congrats. i just found out i am pregnant, i was on the pill so that was a big surprise too. i read about that essure procedure and i wasn't so sure about it. now i know i don't want it lol. this is #4 for us and i told dh that i refuse to leave the hospital until my tubes are tied lol. we are happy to be having this baby even though it was no where near expected. what did your doctor say about the failed procedure? take care of yourself and the new baby...

One of my moms friends daughters got pregnant after having her tubes tied. It was years after she had her tubes done that she became pregnant. It was a huge shock, she was almost 40. She had just remarried and her new hubby did not want children. They did end up having the baby, although the last I heard, the couple divorced.
I had my tubes tied after the birth of my second daughter. They did it right after my C-section, so it was no big deal.

Oh Wow Congratulations ! There seems to be a lot of surprise babies these days one of the girls at work is pregnant she went in for her yearly check and they couldn't find her Mirena string and she had a postive pregnancy test and they do not know when the Mirena fell out its not in her uterus per the sonogram.

Back in 95 when i was pregnant with my son, i was going in for a non stress test and the lady giving me my test was due the month after i was. Not only was she fixed but so was her husband. Talk about a shock!! she said I guess God wanted us to have another one...lol.

My cousin's dh had the big V, she was on the pill. She got pg with her 4th.

That's what we did. DH got fixed and then we kept hearing stories of how 5/10/15 years later they got pregnant. I heard TOO many of these stories so I got fixed. So if we get pregnant, we are definitely supposed to LOL

I have heard of woman getting pregnant after getting their tubes tied. It's rare but not impossible. Still, it's the best birth control next to no sex. A man getting fixed is less effective than the pill according to the doctors I've talked to which is why we made doubly sure. Still....nothing is a sure thing except no sex.
