| We just found out we're
having a little boy. I'm so excited that I had to share. Now comes the big name battle that we've gone through every time. So far I like Noah, Jeremiah, and Mason. Trent's suggestions have been Harlin and Zebedee (sounds like Zippidy and is a biblical name he got from a bible lesson). Let's get ready to rumble because there's NO way this baby is going to be named something that can be followed with "do dah"..

Go with Noah. A weird name is a burden to a kid. Mine's only slightly unusual, but I hated it as a kid. I'm not all that crazy about it now, either. Jeremiah was a bullfrog, he was a good friend of mine ..... Mason sounds like a guy who lays brick. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but why limit his career choices? Harlin sounds like Harlot to me (Though I like the author Harlan Coben.) You've already covered Zipiddy

Congrats on the wonderful news. I like Noah also. How about Jeremy instead of Jeremiah. That's what we did for our second so he didn't have to hear the song all the time. I really like the name Jeremiah. I also like Nathanial. Judy |

![]() Congrats! I think you'll need to pull the mom's privilege card to name this young man - I'm not too fond of your DH's choices. I like Jeremiah - Noah and Mason are OK, too. What's your last name? cj/

I love the name Noah or Mason. I wanted to name our youngest Bradley, but H thought that was to "preppy". ummm....your DH's choices are kind of icky! You want unique and different, but not so unique and different that a child is picked on! Besides, when he's born, you might take one look at him and decide he's a "Bob" (or John, or Mark, or ???)

Have to add my congratulations to all the others. I'm just delighted for your family! I love Noah, fwiw. Around here naming is a pretty simple formula: whoever gives birth, gives names. Soon as d/h manages to deliver a baby, he can name it. |

Congratulations. I like the name Noah too. I also love the name of my grandson Gabriel Joseph. When I had my 2nd son my husband took the birth certificate and named him John Paul. Of all the great boys names I would never have picked John but I was going to name a girl and he got to name the boy. Boy I hope you win.

Congrats Fletchersmom!!! I had a friend who told me to go to the door and yell out the name I liked plus last name Kinda like " John Lee Doe get in here right this minute!!!" If it doesn't sound good then don't use it. I like Noah, but if my dd's had been boys they would have been Adam My 1st grandson was Jacob Warren and now we have Nathanael Chase his is spelled with ael instead of eal, because thats the way its spelled in the bible |

Congratulations and happy wishes for the little guy whatever his name may be! I agree that you have to try names with the middle and last name to see what sounds best. And watch initials. My son almost had the name Alexander Scott untill we realized his initials would be A.S.S.!!!

![]() My DD named her son Leo and her next one, due in April, is Jude - I really like both names - not super common but not too out there either. For the OP - do you think your DH would compromise on a different biblical name? There are *so* many great names to choose from (our boys are Luke and Samuel). Good luck, finding a name you both like can be tough. Oh, and most of all, Congratulations! |

Sorry...don't mean to hijack the thread...but it got me thinking about names. My niece is due in July. She said that she's going to name him "Barack". Do you think that there will be alot of boys starting kindergarten in five years or so with this name (after the President)? ~Lisa |

Thanks for all the well wishes!! Fletcher's middle name was Wallace, and that's a family name on Trent's side. Both Trent and his dad have that middle name as well. Trent and I talked about it, but both feel like it's just going to end there. I'm pushing for Noah.. it's my favorite name, but if Trent comes up with something that's reasonable I'll try and compromise. As far as Anakin and Barack go. I like Anakin better than Zebedee. Barack is iffy. I could see a lot of them resulting from the election. But who knows? We're republicans and dh cannot stand Barack Obama.. so that's not a name I have to worry about. George on the other hand... |

What about your husband's name? I love that name...Trent. I tend to go for T names for some reason though. I love the name Travis, but DH didn't care for it. Our next door neighbor's daughter just named her first baby Noah. There is another girl who is the head of Life Teen at our church and her son is named Noah. Not to be snarky, but it reminds me of this show I used to watch when I was a kid...Captain Noahs Ark with this bizarre old man. ~Lisa
