Losing weight....

Why is it that the first place I lose weight is in my feet and my boobs?

I mean really??

I've been eating better, have cut out most of my caffeine, stopped smoking, cut way down on refined sugar, exercising, just overall trying to get healthier--and yes, I have lost weight in other areas, but NOW all my shoes are too big. I liked to have killed my fool self this morning when I walked right out of my shoes while crossing the street!

If I'm going to get hurt, and be embarrassed--I want to walk out of my slacks!

For those that are interested, I've been taking Chromium Piccolonate (sp), drinking a butt load of decaf green tea and water, on top of eating healthier and eating less--plus exercising.

Congratulations on your hard work!! Maybe you ought to go to Wal-Mart and buy some new shoes.
Isn't it interesting how when a person loses weight, it is noticeable in the feet? You would think that body fat could not affect the overall length of the foot since it's bone. But it does and you'll have to wear your laceup shoes and tie them tighter or go shopping.

Chromium is very good for the body. I lose in my face and legs first the inner tube around the waist is the LAST to go. I would prefer fat feet to that any day!

Anna, remember a while back there was a thread about Pilates, and you highly recommended it? (I think it was you) Well Jan 3rd I started working out at home with my Pilate DVD and I'm down 13 pounds!

My weight has come off my face and waist (not abdomen ) But still working on it. I'd be thrilled if I could loose some weight off my chest, but then I'd probably have to roll them up to put them in my bra...sigh.

Thanks for the tip on the chromium, OP, I'll give it a try.

Yay Mary! Congratulations! I bet you feel wonderful. When you get too good for your workout try the DVDs I suggested in the butt thread.

Yay Mary!

I started my diet last Monday (2/23) and am down 5 pounds. The only place I don't lose is in my boobs. (dh is very thankful for that ) My face gets slimmer first, then my arms, legs, thighs. Warmer weather is finally here so I want to start walking every day.....and dh and I are going to start working out together. I quit smoking awhile ago, and I'm watching what I eat and also portion control. I have a pilates video....I should get that out and try it (watched it once when I first got it and there it sat.... ).

28 pounds to go to reach my goal weight.

Isn't the human body weird? I have had a crazy week and didn't get a chance to keep a close eye on my calorie intake. I just ate, till I was full. I dreaded doing my weekly weigh in this morning, I was sure I had gained a few pounds. I was shocked when I saw 116.5, last week I was at 119.4. I have to wonder what caused the change, since I did not even monitor my food intake. I know that last month I was very stressed, because of the death of my brother and I had a difficult time eating at all. Perhaps it just caught up with me. I did get back on my exercise routine, that might have helped.
I wish I had some words of wisdom, but just keep trying to get into a routine. I have found that it helps. Make exercise a part of your daily life..

I am so jealous of you guys who lose weight in your face! Even when I got down to a size 6, I had my slight double chin. I have never been able to lose that once I put it on. Can't see it much when you look at me but when I smile, it shows it's ugly head I lose weight in my weight and hips first but not my lower abs or inner thighs (where I want to lose).

I've been running 20+ miles a week and I have YET to see results on the scale... However, I do have a skinnier face, and no more cottage cheese on my hiney... That counts for something right?

Wow...I am impressed. I thought I was doing good running 10 miles a week. I bet your building muscle and that is why you might not see it on the scales. If you are running 20 miles a week, you should be very proud of yourself! You have given me inspiration to step up a bit...
