We had a garden fountain out in front of our house that I got last September. I really loved it but it stopped working about a week ago. It was solar powered and we tested everything we could and found out the motor wasn't getting any power. So yesterday I called the company that made it and they told me the motor was gone and I'd either have to send them the broken motor and get it replaced with an electric one (they stopped making the solar ones) or return the whole thing to Lowes, which is where I bought it.

I called Lowes and they said they said they'd give me my money back IF I had the sales slip. Surprise, surprise. I actually found it.

The Lowes in our town didn't have any that I liked and this morning I tried another Lowes in the next town. I knew I'd be paying more. The original fountain was only $55 because they were discontinuing that make. I finally settled on this one which was $129 but I found a $10 off coupon online so with tax and all I paid $128.





I was afraid that the sound of the water would make up all want to run to the bathroom but it's actually quite soothing. I'm going to pull it out away from the house a bit more to see if the birds will check it out.

And that's how I spent my morning.

Very nice! I didn't know they made solar powered fountains. I wonder if anyone still makes them.

My avatar is the fountain I have out back. Tacky, huh? LOL

You can still find solar fountains online. The statue of the little boy peeing is quite famous. I heard this version of the story when I was a kid.
