Does anyone take naps?

I've had a cold and haven't slept well in a few days and today I was reading a magazine and just felt the need to take a nap! I am a person who can sleep in a second, and sleep pretty much anywhere. Well I slept for 3 HOURS, wasted the WHOLE day laying in the sun on the couch! I woke up just in time for the bus and now I am in an awesome mood, getting TONS of stuff done around the house!

Does anyone here regularly take naps?

I don't think I want to make a habit of it, but I feel great!

Now lets see if I can fall asleep toinght too though.

Oh yes. I take a nap every day! I love my nap time. I used to feel guilty indulging in a nap, then I thought WHY?!? Sleep is good for you. Naps are good for you.
I also take 3 hour naps sometimes.. those are extra nice

No way! I hate napping during the day. lol! The only time I ever do is when I'm sick. But I also sleep 8 hours every night so I never feel the need to nap. I hate wasting the day away.

Mostly on Sun. I have no idea but after church then lunch, I just have to go to sleep. I don't get up any earlier or anything. There is no good reason, except I can just lay down and I'm out. No three hour naps here though, that is too long and I'd be done for the day. 20 minutes is perfect!!

Oh yeah, I am a power napper.
I have always been able to catch a 20 minute nap and power up for partying wihen I was younger (much) and since menopause causes issues with sleep for me I have gone back to 20 minute rests when I get a chance.

BOY, do I wish I had a chance to nap! Lately, I just haven't been sleeping well (maybe menopause)? I wake up every night between 2:00 and 3:30 and can't get back to sleep until about 5:30 or 6:00. Then ... the alarm goes off at 6:30. I'm miserable! But, I don't think the boss would understand if I just curled up under my desk for the afternoon.

I love my nap on a Sunday afternoon, while watching the Lifetime channel-there is nothing better. On the weekdays, I am pretty much working full-time as a substitute teacher. I get home around 4pm, get everything organized around the house (dinner, homework, laundry, etc.) and then at 5pm, when Dr. Phil comes on, I give myself 30 mins. to snooze. The kids are more than happy watching their cartoons. And then there is dinner on the table, cleaning up the dinner mess, sending boys off to shower, homework, making sure lunches are packed and clean clothes to wear. This goes til about 9pm. I would not make it if it wasn't for my little nap. I haven't even gone to bed yet, but I still can't wait for that nap tomorrow~

Yes, I love my naps. I have no problem sleeping during the day if I feel the need to. I'm a night owl anyway...that's when I get most of my work done. ~Lisa

I take naps every chance I get. A nap refreshes me and I always have so much energy that night. I'd take one every day, if I could.

Never unless I am sick. Napping just makes me feel off for the rest of the day and its a total waste of my time.

I don't because I feel like I am missing something! I was like this when I was a kid, too. Like I am wasting my hours on my life clock! lol.

I teach Kindergarten, and when they nap, I have to keep real busy or I will start to nod off. It is dark, cold and quiet...with Children's night time classics playing. I usually stand in the hallway and talk to the lady that cleans out there just to stay awake!

I am so jealous - I want to nap but still have a young one at home that does not nap. I will when all the kids are in school full time.

I wish I could. If I try, I sleep for no less than 4 hours. If I tried the 20 min power nap I would just be more cranky! If I'm sick I'm able to nap for any amount of time though and it feels good. My ex is a great napper. . .I used to hate that, knowing that if I laid down it was going to be at least 4 hours or I would just feel worse.

When Naysa takes her nap (she's almost 32 months) I always end up falling asleep on the couch. Now I have a good excuse since I'm preggo w/#4. I'm falling asleep all the time. Add to that that I'm sick all the time, so I need all the extra sleep I can get.

I watch my grandson and when he naps in the morning I`m napping. I like to stay up late at night so the nap is needed for both of us. nancy

I have to say I slept HORRIBLE that night! It was the strangest night of sleep I can remember, I had weird dreams, woke up about every hour, it was terrible!

Once in a while I can fall asleep, usually after the kids get home from school and we're sitting down, me with a book them doing home work, but that day was a beautiful spring day and I felt so guilty wasting it sleeping all afternoon! I was in a good mood that night and I got a ton of stuff done, but it wasn't worth the terrible night of sleep I got.

And jnsp99 this is my first year with my kids in school full time, NAP AWAY!!

I think naps are divine!! Everytime I lay the baby down for one I make a bee line for the couch. When I'm at work I actually notice the time and think to myself "I'm supposed to be napping..."
