Duchess -- how was the dentist?

Was thinking about you yesterday and hope your appointment went well.

Thank you for asking! I was so surprised when I logged on just now and found this. It made my day!

Anyway, all went very well. I took the valium the night before. It really didn't help me sleep tho. In the AM I took the triazolam,(Sp) and well that didn't help either. They had to give me another one crushed up under my tongue. Then they gave me 3 other pills. No clue what they were, and then the mask for the nitrous. It smelled like strawberries. After that all I remember is vague shadows coming in and out of my field of vision, and then I woke up in the truck on the way home. Hubby said they told him I snored LMAO. Stopped on the way home cause I was hungry and got a honey bun, but didn't finish it cause I fell asleep LOL. Woke up around 3:30PM and felt great. So it went very well. No pain, no anxiety. My jaw is a little sore, but that's it.

I go back on the 14th of April for the extractions and the partials. That will be the "big one" because they will be pulling around 8 teeth.

Thank you again for thinking of me. It really does mean alot

Remember to put ice on your face after the extractions. With all your medication you might feel great, but this will prevent any swelling that could lead to more pain. Worked for me.

Wow that's great! I'm one of those people who don't really like to take any meds, but sometimes they are a Godsend, no? I'll never fly again without xanax! Sometimes it's better for you to just take the drugs and not put yourself through all the anxiety. Glad everything went well for you and you found a dentist that understands your fear.

Update...

Went back yesterday to have the one top tooth pulled. My mouth is so sore from the partial. They won't let me take it out yet. They said for I think 2 weeks I have to leave it in. Anyway, I have stitches from this one for some reason. The whole right side of my face is swollen and sore. I literally can not chew anything harder than mushed crackers. My teeth are definately not lined up but I am hoping they will be once the swelling goes down some. If not, I am going to get the dentist to do something about it. I can't eat with them like this.

Right now it's just waiting. For the swelling to go down, for my teeth to line up, etc. But I am happier than I was before which is the main thing. I really wanted those broken messed up ones out of me. So yay! LOL.

Make sure you are only applying ice for the first 24 hours following the extraction(s). After that, the ice will actually make the swelling worse. After the first 24 hrs, apply a warm, moist compress instead.

Hope your right side gets to feeling better soon!
