I have a upromise account for my dd. And is just finishing her 2nd year of college. She wants to take a couple classes over the summer so I was thinking we can use the upromise money now to help pay for this.
My question is I have printed out the form, and it has a place for the NAME.. so I use my name or dd's name and signature? They claim they send checks out each quarter so it could take up to 12 weeks to recieve the check.
Also once I send in this form is there anything else that they may mail me fo this money? I was wondering because there does not seem to be any place to put in college info etc. So basically this money could be used for anything? Even if she did not go to college? I know that I have to get the letter notorized since it is over $200, but I just want to make sure all is done right so there is no delay in getting the money since summer will be here soon.

Use your name. Mine took 6 weeks to reach me - its a check made out to you. I never received any other piece of mail regarding the payout. And yes it can be used for anything but your right using it to pay for summer classes is a great idea. My account was for my son who attended 1 quarter but I kept earning and gave it to him as a Christmas gift. I then changed the bene to myself and will use it to pay my student loans. Or I may use it for my stepson so he can go to college.

I had no idea that you could use this money for anything. So if you get a check, it's made out to you and it doesn't matter what you use it for?
