Red face Pelvic spasm ???

Ok, I have a question for you ladies. I have even asked my doc. and he doesn't seem to see anything to cause this. (OBGYN dr)

Every now and again. (not very regular, this last few days I have had about 7 but not any for about 3mts before then) I get these spasms that originate inside the vagina area.

Have any of you experienced this pain. And I do mean PAIN it hurts so bad that I have to stop whatever I am doing and cross my legs. ( I am usually walking or standing when this happens).

I have tried looking up vaginal spasms but all I can find is involving sexual activity. NEVER happens during that time. I can be walking to the door and get a spasm. They last for about 30sec to a min. never more than that.

This time, I did notice that after the spasms this week, I started my period. But that has not always been the case. I went four months with no period and still would have a spasm every now and again.

TIA
Chris

Have you been checked for a bladder infection/UTI?

Sorry this is happening to you. It must be really uncomfortable.

Yes, and it is neither of those. It feels lower than where the bladder would be.

I have had those before. It seems with me, I think it was hormone related. I seem to think I was getting them after my pregnancies and usually before my period. . .when your hormones are adjusting. Have you had yours tested? Could that be the cause for you? And you are right. . .they are PAINFUL, but mine only lasted a few seconds. I haven't had any in years now though.

I have severe endo but I have been asymptomatic most of my life (except for infertility but I have PCOS too) Anyways due to the PCOS my periods would only be twice a year for most of my life then as I got older 3-4 times per year..Now for some reason the last 7 months I have had a regular true period every month..Anyways, I have sometimes have severe pains intermittently and have never connected them to my period until the periods have become more frequent. I have had severe rectal pain-sorry but it's kind of like sticking a poker up my butt and pain in my flank that I kept thinking maybe I had kidney stones for years now..But now that my periods have become regular, I've realized over the last year that these symptoms are really due to endo on some tissue in my body--ureters and somewhere near the rectum probably..Any possibility you have endo and pains are related to hormones on these tissues??

I have restless leg syndrom and it causes the severe rectal pain and the dr said it is compressing a nerve and that it was is causing the pain. This happens while I am asleep and when I wake up in the morning it feels as though a piece of rebar was assaulting me in the butt. I found the cause of the pain because when I wake up my feet are going a hundred miles a hour and the pain subsides when the feet stop moving.

Could be related to hormones. I did not have a period for four mts. Went to the dr. and he did blood work and a pap. Everything came back fine. So he started me on a hormone for the first ten days of Jan. Feb. March. I have since had a period in those said months. Now I am to take no hormones for three mts. and go back to the dr in June.

The spasms were long before not having a period though, because I had asked him about them at least two years ago at a regular pap. These pains are coming from inside my whoha, not around the anus.

I wish I had words of wisdom, but I only have questions. lol
I get what I explain what feels like as I explain lightening shooting into or out through my cervix, vagina area, is that anything like what you feel? If you happen to figure it out I would love to know. I haven't been able to get an answer anywhere.

I get the same thing! I just assumed it was a nerve acting up. I have pinched nerves in different places (especially sciatic). I am going to see a Gyno soon and will ask her about this...

Yes on the lightening, and I have asked my gyno and he does not seem
to know what is causing it. If your gyno knows, please kindly share!
