Have you refinanced your home? Or R U?

We are looking into refi. Just wondering what lender you had the best rates with. Local bank, nat'l bank, credit union etc.

30 years are running approx 4.5 with 2 pts.
I want too much I want a 4% with 0 pts!!

TIA josie

We took out a home equity loan to refinance. No points, no closing costs and tax deductible for us. We did a 10 yr (I think) loan. House will be paid off in about three years!!!!

We have a 4.75% fixed that we didn't pay any points for at the time....so I don't think it would be worthwhile to go through the refi process.

Exactly what we did 3 weeks ago so we aren't doing it again. Refi'ing is saving us $200 a month

Nope, won't be. Our rate is also 4.75% fixed and we never paid any points. If it goes down below 4%, we might, however I really don't see that happening.

We have been trying for over a month to refi, but the banks don't seem to want to loan money. Bank of America keeps leaving us messages that they are very busy and will get to us later this week (they've been leaving the same messages for a month <ugh>).

The only good thing about it is that the rates are even lower now than they were when we first tried to start the process.

FWIW, we have excellent credit (BoA told us we qualified for the lowest rate they offered) and we have enough equity in our home, even with the reduced values, so it's not *our* fault the banks will not lend to us.

We went through a mortgage broker so you aren't tied to just one bank and you get the lowest rate from numerous sources. You can PM me and I can give you the contact info of who we used if you want...

No more Mortgage here I paid off our home with our taxes and $1500 from my Mom. I never plan on getting a mortgage on it again or a home equity loan either.

The next Mortgage I get hopefully will be in Florida on a brand spanking new house built for us with the accessibility, and air filtration items we need and it will be big enough for all us, my mom, foster mom and a guestroom.

We are in the process of a refi and just waiting on the paperwork from the underwriter. Apparently things are taking a lot longer than usual. Seems the average is about a month, whereas it used to only be a week. We are also going through a mortgage broker.

We are refinancing to add 2 rooms and a half bath to our home. We have our son and his girlfriend living with us and our little 2 bedroom 1 bath just isn't cutting it. It's been about 3 weeks so far and we were supposed to hear something Friday.

Our payments are only going up by $30/month which isn't bad at all and our interest rate is dropping from 6.625% to 5%.

We are experiencing what you are talking about with our construction business. We are currently working with 3 families that all were approved for loans (1 house, 1 personal line of credit and 1 home equity) and NONE of the 3 different banks are presently giving ANY money, even IF approved. All 3 gave a range of 6-8 weeks before they'll get anything. (That was about 4 weeks ago) Seems the banks are the ones screwing up the whole "go out and spend" thing, IMHO.

One of the girls at work just bought a home they will settle sometime in the next week and they got financed through USAA.. he is military and they did a pre-approval in late February and househunted twice the first house they wanted the offer was refused and so was the counter-offer. I think she said the rate was around 5%.
