Oakland police shooting....

What's wrong with people anyway? I was watching Bill O. and he did a story about a protest against the police and FOR the killer. So I had to look up more info. I found this.
3-25) 20:36 PDT Oakland -- About 60 people marched and rallied in Oakland on Wednesday to condemn the police and honor Lovelle Mixon, who was killed by Oakland police after he fatally shot four officers Saturday.
"OPD you can't hide - we charge you with genocide," chanted the demonstrators as they marched along MacArthur Boulevard, near the intersection with 74th Avenue where Mixon, 26, a fugitive parolee, gunned down two motorcycle officers who had pulled him over in a traffic stop. He killed two more officers who tried to capture him where he was hiding in his sister's apartment nearby.

The protest was organized by the Oakland branch of the Uhuru Movement, whose flyers for the march declared, "Stop Police Terror." Many marchers wore T-shirts featuring Mixon's photo, including a woman identified by march organizers as Mixon's mother. The woman declined to comment and gave her name only as Athena.

Lolo Darnell, one of Mixon's cousins at the demonstration, said, "He needs sympathy too. If he's a criminal, everybody's a criminal."

Asked about police allegations that Mixon was suspected in several rapes, including that of a 12-year-old girl, marcher Mandingo Hayes said, "He wasn't a rapist. I don't believe that."

His DNA is a match for an unsolved rape:

Lovelle Mixon was linked by DNA to the February rape of a 12-year-old girl who was dragged off the street at gunpoint in the East Oakland neighborhood where Mixon's sister lived, police said Tuesday.
Mixon, 26, a fugitive parolee who shot four Oakland police officers to death Saturday before he was killed as he hid inside his sister's apartment, might have committed as many as five other rapes in the same neighborhood in recent months, investigators said.

He had been in jail for an attempted car jacking and assault and was jailed for 6 years. He was on probation. Looks like he then raped a little girl and possibly more girls/women. Willie Brown (former mayor) thinks these protests are totally inappropriate. He did a really good interview.

I just feel sooooooo bad for the deceased police officers and their families. I can't imagine how the wives and children are feeling knowing that there is a segment of the population basically celebrating these deaths and mourning the felon. Cops aren't perfect but this is totally ridiculous.

That is a unbelievably ridiculous excuse. I'm sure that if Lolo were the victim of his cousin's crimes, he would then be screaming loudly that he wasn't provided with police protection and would be suing the police department and the city. Since he's a cousin of the perpetrator, he just excuses his cousin's criminal actions and thinks the police should overlook them, the way he overlooks the rapes and murders his cousin committed. I think Lolo is a waste of good oxygen.

People expect too much from the police. Some people want them to do their parenting for them but they'll be the first to scream that by doing so, the police have overstepped their boundries and violated their civil rights. They want a crime-free city but blame the police for enforcing the laws.

I'm sorry that the police officers died by the hand of scum like Lovelle Mixon and it's horrible that his family is adding to the misery of the people grieving their deaths. It sounds like his family's attitude toward his crimes helped make him the monster he was. It's a shame they're out there spreading more hate because it's obvious that they're of no benefit to society themselves, unlike the men who were killed.

In another report his dad said
Quote:
He's not a monster
And on a different site a family member I want to say his sister said
Quote:
He feared going back to jail
Here's my quote to all of them.
Quote:
Don't commit crimes and you have NOTHING to fear. or being labeled a monster
Just another excuse of families when thier love ones are killed at the hands of the police while they are committing a crime. It's their dumb a$$ way to justify the crime and cry of poor little ( insert name ) was done so wrong by the police... Yet the same policeman or department is called if they need them to save thier butts .
