Have you ever attended an Avon, Jewlery, pampered chef, etc... party without buying?

I have not gone to one of these parties in a long time. I have no intention and will not, for sure, buy anything. But, I would like to socialize and get together with the girls going to the party.

Should I go, knowing I will not buy anything? Have you done this? What percentage of people buy stuff?

I have to say that I have never gone and not bought anything. I don't see anything wrong with going and not buying though. I think that pretty much everyone buys something.

I have.

It's a pet peeve of mine that they call them parties. They aren't parties. They are sales opportunities.

If they insist on calling them parties, then I say you can treat them like you would a real party...and at real parties you don't have to buy anything!

I would be upfront with the hostess beforehand and tell her I wouldn't be making a purchase. If she seemed ok with it, I would go. If she seemed uneasy about it, I would skip it.

In my experience, most people make a purchase at these types of 'parties'.
