Why do people ask that????
I have a friend that I had not seen in 7 years. She came down for a visit and.... she has gone thru a divorce, lost weight etc.....

I had to hide my SHOCK! The weight loss was great for her health... but oh my goodness.. she looked OLD! She is 48 and I had to sneak and call my DH and "prepare" him for how different she looked. DH thought she looked my mom's age.. 62 and said my mom looked younger.

So now she wants to know how YOUNG she looks... TO kinda get an idea as to what others think of her.....

SHe wants to loose more weight and she doesn't look healthy now.
WHen you are nearly 50... the college weight doesn't wear the same as when you were a long distance runner..

So how do you answer.. How old do I look?

That's a tough one. I'd probably just say, "Oh, I'm really bad at that. How old do I look?" Maybe when the tables are turned, she'll realize that it's a bad question to ask.

I don't ever remember being asked that. But, I'd probably do something like juju and if pressed probably laugh it off and say something like, "not a day over 29!"
