Anyone had a nasal polyp?

My son has a nasal polyp, and the dr wants to do surgery to remove it. Any of you had the surgery? Would you recommend it? If not, have any of you tried other home remedies that worked for you?

I don't have polyps, although at one time they thought I did. It turned out to be nasal bone spurs and a deviated septum. I have heard that surgery involving the nasal passage is often very painful. But, I cannot offer any first hand opinions on it. Have you tried researching options?

I have had polyps removed in my nasal area there is nothing to it. In out all done no pain.

My Dh just had a septoplasty done last week to fix a deviated septum. That is a whole other ball of wax. He didn't have a lot of pain with it but he was miserable from all of the packing and inflatible things in his nose.
