"MARLEY & ME" Did you watch?

Wow The Easter Bunny brought Marley & Me and I had no idea how emotional the ending was. I loved the movie but boy if you need a HUGE CRY then bring on the tissue and watch this movies ending.

Glad I watched this in my house not movie theatre

We watched it on Saturday evening and I had forgotten the reviews about how long drawn out the ending is, I was sobbing and my little one was buried in our dog's face and crying, I think they could have made it shorter and the ending better by showing that the family gets a new dog (as mentioned in the book). Overall I was disappointed in the movie as it showed more of the Grogans life as a couple than Marley's antics. The book was way way better.

I watched the movie - loved it - and skipped out at the end. I just couldn't handle being all swollen and cried out.

didnt care for it at all. Kept concentrating on Owen Wilsons nose <swear it gets more out of shape everytime i see him> Jennifer was.... blah. I think the only part I liked was when she got home from finding out about loseing the baby and the dog came to comfort her. Oh and the puppy part they used for the dog food commercials where he's all sprawled out in the middle of the spilled food gobbling it down, otherwise the dog was a huge .... i dont know, reckless beast who they needed to find some help on getting control of like most other people would have. <their efforts that the training class was pretty useless>. The book was probably better, you could tune out more of the familys story and tune in on more of the dogs.

I loved the movie but agree the ending took way too long. Of course, we had just gone thru this exact thing with our little Mo and it was just like we were re-living it again.

I'm reading the book now. I didn't realize when I watched the movie that it was based on a true story.

I rented the movie to watch with little kids and turned it off after the first 15 minutes. There were way too many swear words and then the part about them taking the dog for "some sex" I couldn't imagine letting the kids see something like that, all I needed was little 3 year old girls asking what the dogs were doing. I thought it was supposed to be family friendly.

It was shown on my flight from Denver to Boston last week, but I decided to sleep instead. I did watch Frost/Nixon on the way to Denver...that was an awesome movie - great acting!

I had no idea either that this was based on a true story. That will teach my kids because I was crying so hard especially after the tough week I had with my dog last week. I told them not to laugh because this isn't so fictional as we may be faced with this exact situation some day like so many other people. Two friends just had to put their Dogs down and it was heart wrenching. My 11 yr old was crying as well and I felt so bad because I know what she was thinking not to mention her dream since she could talk has been to have a dog and be a vet.

We just rented this last weekend. We thought it was really good. The dog was hilarious. The ending was sad, but I didn't think it was overly drawn out.

Great family movie!

I thought they could have done without the dog humping-the-leg scene. Not appropriate for little ones. But, then again, I didn't pay much attention to the rating of the movie.

We had seen it in the theatre, and the WHOLE theatre was sobbing.

We just watched it last night-had to cover the 7yr. old's eyes a couple of times, but we really enjoyed it. We were all sobbing at the end.

We watched this over the weekend at my parents, and all the adults were bawling, and all of the kids were just looking at us like we had lost it!

Yeah, probably, but DH & I both cracked up out loud at it! It was rated PG and my girls are 12 & 15, so I don't worry too much about stuff like that anymore.

Plus any kid with a dog has probably seen that up close & personal!

We thought it was really good.

I'd like to see this too, but heard that the ending was emotional. I'm going to wait until after I have the baby, because right now I cry at the drop of a hat.

I very much enjoyed the movie, but with the inevitable that you know is coming at the end, I really wanted it to end on a more upbeat note. I do, however, think the message of the movie is wonderful. If you give a dog your heart, he'll give you his. And it would be the easy road to give up on a pet, but more rewarding to stick it out as they are part of the family.

I haven't read the book, but I enjoyed the movie. I did get very emotional because it reminded me so much of what we're going through right now with our own dog. She looks alot like Marley. Her fur has turned whiter and she can't get up the stairs too well because of her eyesight. She recently had surgery to remove a cyst on her back and she was really out of it for a few days due to the anesthesia. She just laid in the same spot for two days...except when we took her outside to go to the bathroom. I laid down next to her and felt like Owen Wilson in the one scene. If you love dogs, you'll enjoy this movie. ~Lisa
