Comcast -- I hate you! VENT

I called Comcast cable yesterday to report a problem with our TV (2 channels were out). The guy scheduled an appointment for someone to come out today between 9-12. I rearranged my entire day for this and they never showed.

I just called to see why and the rep. said that the appt. had been cancelled because the channels I was calling about were switched out of the package we get. So, they cancelled my appt. and didn't bother to make a courtesy call to let me know. I'm so POd with COMCAST right now. GRRRRRR.

I just sent them an email about their less than stellar customer service.

Vent over, thanks.

They didn't even let you know? I would be cancelling service because of that. We have DirecTV and it's wonderful! We had Dish Network before, so we know crappy service!

Sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately I am not surprised as this seems to be the norm these days.

One of my clients had an appointment for the wound care center yesterday. He doesnt drive and is in a wheelchair. He had to pay the medivan to come take him. They got there with him and was unloading him when one of the nurses came out and asked why he was there. He expalined that he had an appointment and they said they had resched. all the appointments for this week to next week since the Dr was out of town. He asked why they had not called him and they said that there was to many people to call so they decided to just tell people as they arrived. The medivan cost this man 50.00 for a ride for nothing. People just dont care anymore!

That's horrible! He should send the doc a bill for the medivan.

I 2nd that. I know *I* would. It will probably be disregarded but I would try to get it. I know I get a call 1-2 weeks before my scheduled appt if the doctor isn't going to be there (ie: out of town, etc). I think the least amount of time was 1 day and that was because a family member died.

Not many *big* companies have decent customer service. They don't have to because people will still do business with them. I don't love Comcast but I certainly like the better since I negotiated our $175 a month bill down to $99 a month (for 6 months). I was even told I could call back in 6 months to get another 6 month adjustment

He certainly should and if it's not paid, he should file a small claims suit. I guarantee you the doctor would rather pay the $50 he owes than missing all those lucrative appointments while he goes to court.

I just CANNOT believe that a medical facility would do this! Especially, since they must have known that this particular patient was in a wheelchair. Did they think he had a spouse that would drive him? Even so, in my opinion, this is simply unacceptable! There is ABSOLUTELY no reason that the people who worked in the office couldn't have called the people with appointments. How long does it take to tell someone the appointment has been scheduled for next week??? Do they not have office workers? Receptionists, secretaries, nurses who had nothing to do since the doctor was not there??? I'd be complaining BIG TIME!

I would write personal letters on real paper to every single person I could get ahold of at that facility to complain about how this poor man had to pay $50 because they couldn't be bothered. And then I'd write either somebody in the state's veteren affairs or similiar (if applicable), the attorney general - and probably a local newspaper/station. Overkill? probably, but when you think about how MANY people were probably affected, and how they could do it again - worth the time.

OP, I'd be annoyed too. You'd think they could have told you that those channels were dropped when you made your first call and not have even bothered to make an appointment.

Regarding the poor guy in the wheelchair, pardon my french but what the hell? There were too many people for them to call?? What???? Isn't that what receptionists are for is to call people about appointments???
I wonder if the doctor know what was going on or if the not calling of patients was an idea the staff cooked up on their own.
I'd be asking for the $50 from the dr. and if not, I'd be taking him to Judge Judy. She'd give the dr.an earfull I'm sure!

I absolutely can't stand Comcast and refuse to use them. I had one of their guys come and cut our underground cable because he said it might interfere with their customers reception.(We used a different company than Comcast and then switched to Dish) He was on our property without permission, I'd asked him to leave, and he just ignored me after getting ugly with me. When I called and complained Comcast ignored it as well saying I was not one of their customers.JERKS!!
