EPCOT's Flower & Garden Show

At the last minute yesterday, my daughter (formally known as that kid of mine that doesn't get Disney) asked me if I'd like to go to EPCOT. An hour later we were on the road.

I expected crowds and I got them. Eww Weee! There were people every where.

We wandered up to the fountain and, holy cow, they must have done a super cleaning job. The last time I was there, the fountain was walled off while they did maintenance. I've never seen the water go higher than it was yesterday.

Our next stop was the butterfly house. Just outside of it was this sand sculpture for Disney's new movie.

Small rant coming: If you have young children, please don't let them go into the plant area and stomp on the butterflies! There were several adults there talking business stuff and while they did their kids were deforesting the butterfly house.

They finally left and I don't think I was the only one happy to see them go. The butterflies were beautiful.

After a while, I left my daughter there and I went over to Test Track to get some fast passes. It was around 5 but, unfortunately, the FP were sold out for the day. Even the single rider line was 30 minutes so we skipped that.

On the way back, I stopped by the pixie garden.

We decided to get some food and headed over to the Land. Bleech, $16 for a terrible sandwich, some chips, a drink and strawberry shortcake. The shortcake was delicious but the rest... over priced and that sandwich (a vegetable sub thing) was disgusting.

The Land ride had no line at all so we went through that.

We went into Innovations so I could send an email. Never did find that (they've moved stuff) but you can now ride a Segway! That will have to wait until next time because there was quite a line and we were running out of time.

Then we came across an area where you can put yourself into a video game. I was the person but I let my daughter play the game. She ended up getting 91 tokens. I would have ended up with 1. Video games are not my thing. You can email the game to yourself and play it at home. It's really hysterical.

It was back to the fountain to decide our next move. I had asked a CM over at the Pixie area if they sold these. The Tinkerbell item, not the butterfly.

I saw them last year for the first time and have thought about how pretty one would look in my garden ever since. Well they do have them this year so we headed down to the kiosks near Canada to see if we could find one.

I had left the house with a minimal amount of cash so I'll have to wait until the next trip. They are around $35.

Then we took in the film at Canada. All the countries are decorated beautifully but Canada is amazing.

I loved the film. It starred Martin Short and was new to me. Very funny in spots.

We did SSE before leaving

By now and for most of this trip, the lighting was not so hot for picture taking. I must confess that by the end of the day my eyes are not so hot either. At any rate, here are more flowers that we came across during our stay.

On Tuesday, we're hoping to head up to the Animal Kingdom. Yes it's true... I am a Disney World junkie!

Great pics! Would you have a larger version of the Canada image? I think it might make nice desktop wallpaper.

Lovely photos! I've been to WDW during the Flower & Garden show a few times.....really spectacular! I don't even need to go on any rides or attractions....can just enjoy the scenery. Hmmm.....working on my travel plan for my 8-week sabbatical from work coming up....is WDW in the cards?? Hmmm.....
