Cops have Philip Markoff, suspected 'Craigslist Killer' of model Julissa Brisman, in custody

Sounds like the police have caught the Craigslist killer. Who would have thought it would be a second-year medical student who was to be married in August??? What was this guy thinking???
Now authorities are saying he probably has other victims.

I heard on CNN that he was robbing the women to pay off a gambling debt....

I'm so glad they caught him already before he takes another womans life.

This story is intriguing and troubling. Here's a clean-cut second year med student who appears to have a dark secret side. Does Ted Bundy come to mind? Handsome, educated psychopath. It appears that his family is standing by him for now, but it seems the evidence stacking up is overwelmingly pointing in his direction.

Will make a good movie of the week.

I kind of find it troubling that so many people seem to think that a killer has to look a certain way. That kind of thinking can certainly get people into trouble!

I do hope they have more evidence than just a gun, duct tape and ties. I think you can probably find that in most homes.

PD said they found not only gun/duct tape etc in the home but also underwear belonging to multiple victims...and that the guy is tied to the crimes through email & cellphone records. The family/fiancee must be in shock right now, I bet they don't believe he did it.

Yeah, they said it was one of the easiest cases ever because all the email evidence led them straight to his computer. Plus they have video surveillance of him...I think he's guilty as hell and shocked that he got caught.

Yeah they were saying that the fiance' said that he did NOT DO IT...he was the kindest, sweetest man that would never harm a fly!

And usually if you tell someone about the creepy vibe they think your the nut. Like I told my 5th grade teacher a kid was creepy and now he's in prison for life for rape and murder of a four year old girl

I wonder what would have happened had he not been caught now and had gotten married this summer.......

Markoff is now on a suicide watch after shoelace marks were found on his neck in jail.

I can understand how his friends and family could be in disbelief, but that Facebook group seems a little silly. Isn't the evidence against him pretty overwhelming? I thought they had computer and phone records and surveillance tapes of him coming and going. . .not to mention the underwear they found in his apartment.

It is amazing the amount of evidence that they supposedly have on him (note that I don't think any of this information has been released publicly, which perhaps could end up being a problem for "fair trial" in this jurisdiction). I heard that they have his fingerprints in a hotel in RI where another crime (but not murder) occured. Those witnesses should be able to ID him personally...

I keep wondering how he found the time to plan and execute these things while going to school and having a seemingly normal life to those around him......real sociopath, I guess.

Yes, how would that situation have ended up? Would he have gone straight and not have the urge to hook up with women who gave exotic massages? OR would the new wife someday end up missing? The fiance should be so very grateful that all this came to light before they got married.
