Check out this ad for blueberry plants....

....and lmk what y'all think. My fam loves, loves, loves, blueberries, and they are one of the superfoods we've all heard so much about. A 6 oz container goes for about 3 bucks here at the grocery stores.
When we lived in the NE BBs grew wild, we were never at a loss for them.
I have lived in the Mid-West for 8 years now and have tried every possible blueberry bush available for this region but have never had any luck w/them. The BBs for this gardening zone are smaller to begin with than the ones back east, and I have a lot of shade on my property, very few spots for BBs to thrive
The ad states that these puppies will grow in sun or shade, I am skeptical.
So, what say any of y'all seasoned gardeners in the Mid-West?
Shall I risk $10 + shipping for another disappointment?

TIA.

I would not buy these because the man's voice annoys me greatly.

Also, there is a shipping charge of $8.90. I'd just go to a local nursery or Lowes and buy plants that I can see. In the past, I have ordered various plants by mail and they are barely little tiny sticks that take years to grow.

I'd be skeptical.

I think these kinds of things never turn out the way they say IMHO. I think you are better off finding a good local nursery and getting advice on what is the best to try for your local situation.

Too funny! That's as good a reason as any.

Gah! Blueburry Guy's voice annoys me too, and I bet he pronounces 'library' as 'liberry.' I'd skip these, and look for advice at a local nursery.

Now I know I am going senile. I misread this thread this morning. I could not wait to get home and see the link for

BLUEBERRY PANTS

I did not know how they made pants out of blueberries but I couldn't wait to find out.

I would go to a local nursery and ask them about their experience with BB plants. I go to a BB farm to pick berries here in Tennessee and their plants are in the full sun - and, believe me, it is quite hot here in July when they are ripe.

They are the same company that has the topsy turvey tomato thing. I think I would go to your local nursery. I think Lowes and Home Depot guarantees their plants. Good Luck.
