Best deals in the past 12 mos?

I'll start.
First must be having a Trader's Joe's and Costco open in our area, too many deals to recount.
Second (and maybe it should be the first?) is the $15 mink coat DH found at a thrift shop for moi. Puh-leeze, PETA proponents and other of such ilk, we live in a very frigid part of the country. Down coats and substitutes aside, I have never had a coat that kept me as warm as my 1940's mink coat, and I have never spent so little for a winter coat.
Next?

I have to say Super Double Coupons at Kmart has been the best deal I've had this year so far.

The amount of stuff I got for free would be too long to list but most of it was practical stuff such as paper towels, cat food, hba stuff, etc. It got even better when Kelloggs cereal was 50 cents after coupons and I had enough boxes to send for a free tshirt and a free throw.

Oh wait, the deal at Giant Eagle for prescriptions was pretty sweet too. They had a coupon for fill a new or transferred scrip, get $1 off per gallon of gas and it just happened that I had a scrip to fill thanks to my crappy sinuses. Turns out the scrip was one of the $4 ones and I could still use the coupon! Wound up getting gas for 59 cents a gallon the next time I had to fill up(there were additional discounts added by that time but the $1 off was the majority).

Congrats on the great deal on the mink! My cats would probably try to lick it bald!

Ahhh by far our 50 inch flat screen TV from best buy ..Dh and I stopped by best buy to check on a over the stove cooker. I was walking around waiting for the salesman to get free from a few of the customers he was helping. I walked into the section that has TV's on shelves vs ones hanging on the wall. I noticed this huge flat screen and thought gosh I would like to have this (). When I looked down it had a price tag of 1099.00 .. I didn't believe the price so I went running to get my hubby to make sure, got back over there and he too looked and price was 1099.00.Told DH noway thats right let me get someone over here. 1st person was a female. She bent down looked over the tag and said yes ma'am its 1099.00, I looked at DH and said LOAD HER UP !!. Well still thinking why is this TV so low in cost I then went to get another person to possibly tell me why the price was so cheap. He looked the TV over and said he didnt know but guessed it must be on sale. Ok I told him roll it up front. well low and behold when they scanned the price tag it rang up 3999.00 Everyone was shocked including us. The salesgirl called a manager over to see why it rang up at 2,900 more than what the tag said. The manager left and came back about 5 mins later and said " we have to sell it to them for 1099.00 someone put the wrong TV on the shelf with the price tag of 1099.00. I spoke up and said I had 2 people to check the price on the TV and both said it was right, Manager said he understood and the girl that helped us was standing next to me and she said Chris I'm the one that told them it was right. He told her no problem ring up for the tag price. Now normally I wouldn't have taken an item that rings up wrong , but in this case I had them to check and recheck and was told price was right. So I now have a nearly 4,000 dollar TV for the tag price of 1100.00. By far the BEST deal of the year.

In case anyone is wondering she didn't get fired nor the guy. We went back a few weeks later to buy a stove and washer and they both were still working there. Then at Christmas we went back for a movie and again they both were working.

I have a similar Best Buy story. My son found a 27 in monitor on the clearance table marked 50.00. While he was looking at it he noticed it was actually a flat screen TV/monitor. We asked some questions about it and three different salespeople assured me that it was the right cost but when we got to the register it rang up 599.00. After the manager was called, he overrode the price and gave it to us for 50. I had a gift card from Christmas for 50.00 for purchasing something and so it was basically free. One of my best deals this year.

WOW...Awesome deal! Yes, when something is marked that way, they must sell it to you for that price! I don't think anyone on here can beat this one...very cool. ~Lisa

"whinies - when you whine ?"

Sadly I seem to whine a LOT lately, but I am tryin to stop some of it.

Well, I try to use coupons and watch sales as much as I can, with all the stuff that has happened the last three years, I have to admit that I have let some good deals get by me and I get really annoyed with myself when that happens.

Ok, it may not be the best deal, but it is kinda the one that made me the happiest;

I have been watch TJ MAXX as I have been having a jumpin up and down fit for a new Dooney and Bourke/ I finallly found one that I wanted and got to thinking that the wallet that I had was too large for it so I kept looking till I found a Fossil Wallet that was the right size to fit the purse and a couple of the other smaller purses I have. I got them both for $5.98 cash! OK, OK, I did have $125 worth of Discover gift cards that covered the difference, but the cool part to me was I had gotten the gift cards from NewPort by sending in pack upc's for last years promotion. So my total out of pocket was actually just $5.98, plus now I don't feel like I have to run to TJ MAXX to check out the purses twice a week.
