Someone brought it to my attention that there was a whole thread about making your own bag contest with a link that was not removed. It went all the way to 51 posts. My link has been removed after a few posts. Can someone tell me the difference? I want to obey the rules. Thanks!

My opinion is that "vote for me" is against the rules. Maybe the mods didn't notice the bag one right away. I had a "vote for me" in my signature line a while ago, and was asked to remove it immediately. Good luck to your son!

It would be nice if there were a single thread to put all the vote-for-me posts, so that people could still post them, but people that don't like them can easily avoid the thread. I agree that there's disparity in how these two threads were treated, but the bag thread wasn't nearly as obviously a vote-for-me request, so that might explain how it was overlooked.

Neither title said "vote" of the 2 threads.

The bag thread had at least 1 moderator posting, and perhaps voting. The lack of applying the rules fairly has happened before, fairness isn't a mc policy even though they want you to believe it.

I scanned the thread on the reusable bags, after reading this post. I didn't see any mods who posted in it. I could have missed it though. I do not read every thread on here, I do not have the time. After seeing a post on another board here on MyCoupons talking about the reusable bag contest I assumed that it was just someone letting everyone know about the contest. No one brought the thread to my attention, and I did not realize it was a thread requesting votes, if I had the link would have also been removed.

I will put in a request to the Powers that be about adding a sticky, for vote requests.



If any members want to report something that doesn't belong, ask a question, or make a suggestion, the best way (for me) is by PM

I, like Nicole, have asked for a vote request place in the past. We are trying again to see if we can change the rules to allow one, though I think they should be on the sweeps board, not here. When I see a vote request, I do delete the thread. I'm sorry if some get missed. I can honestly say I didn't know that bag one was a vote request. I didn't actually read the thread. I know I've said this before, but it really helps when members contact us when they see something rather than waiting to see what we will do. It is hard to catch everything.

As for now, vote requests are not allowed If we say no to one person because of the rules, it must be applied to everyone (myself included...and I've won a few voting contests that I couldn't post here).

Cross your fingers we can get an okay and a place to request.
