where can I post a job offer?

I work for a company who has a job opening, and we need someone in a week. Asap! Craigs list was always the best place to post, now they charge a $25 fee to put a job posting. Where else can I post for free? I need to get someone in this position immediately, and they wont pay to advertise.

thanks

I'd be interested in getting information about the job opening, if you'd like to PM me (saying it's available in Ohio!). Thanks!

Does Snag A Job or Monster charge you for listings? That's the only thing I can think of.

In this economy, use word of mouth. Email a job description to people you know and ask them if they know anyone who is looking for a job and would qualify, have them email you their resume. You will probably get the best qualifed people very quickly, especially if you include a salary range.

I have been job hunting for months now and have registered on the 'big' sites, but mostly get jobs I am very remotely qualified for, 'work at home' or be a 1099 contractor type jobs. A good friend has sent me 2 great leads, I had 1 interview and am waiting to hear from them this week!

Hey Beth - I live in Fort Worth and know quite a few people who have been laid off. As you know, that has hit our area pretty hard. Do you want to email me a job description and I can send it to a few people I know? My dad also belongs to a professional networking group in Southlake and he said their attendance has gone from about 50 people to over 300 in the last 6 months. I can share the description with him, as well.

Thanks,

Kim

No offense, but I'd think twice about joining a company that was too cheap to pony up $25 to post a job opening that they needed to have filled ASAP.

Well, its not the company who wont pay, its me. I am sure the company would. I am hoping to find someone to replace my coworker who just gave her notice. We have found several people on craigs list, and I told my boss I could post it there. We seem to find someone quicker to replace someone via craigs list, than thru the company ways. I would pay the $25 myself, but when you post on Craigs list, you post one day, then 3 days later its way down on the list, and you dont get anyone to reply. You have to repost every couple days, and I wont pay $25 every couple days. I have posted on craigs list for job openings quite a few times for free, and now they charge you. So, its not the company. The opening is for a Pharmacy Technician paying $13.xx an hour to start.

Is there a local college to post at where they got their education? What about a window sign or trade journal or an online trade website? You need someone with a specialized education (right? at least an Associate?) - you have to look in the right places.

Right now, so many are looking for a job I wouldn't think it would be long. Consider starting a resume file so you have applicants to call on next time.
