Smile What are your plans for Mother's Day?

DS and I are going to church, then to breakfast, the zoo and Chuckie Cheese for dinner. How about you?

DH and sons always like to take me out to eat at a restaurant of my choice, but since the places around here are packed on Mother's Day I had the idea to go tonight around 8:00, which is late for dinner around these parts, lol. Timing was good because we walked in and were seated right away. Food came quickly and was hot, fresh, and GOOD!I Chose Cracker Barrel and had Country Fried Steak w/gravy, grits, 2 eggs over medium, hash brown casserole, biscuits, and 2 smoked sausage patties. I normally do not eat this much in an entire day! Couldn't finish it all so I have breakfast in a to go box for in the morning. Topped it off with a walk around the neighborhood to try and work off some of the grease!

Going to a friend's daughter's first birthday (crawfish boil) at noon and then taking David's mom to Copeland's for dinner at 5 PM. It will be a busy day! Saturday, we have a graduation party at 5 PM and are then going over to a friend's house to cook barbequed shrimp at 6:30 PM.

We have a soccer game and then my nieces graduation party.

DH did tell me that we have plans tonight at 6:15, so he and the girls were planning ahead at least!

I will wake up at my usual time of 6:30 but will wait in bed until around 8 so that I can have my traditional breakfast in bed which consists of two eggs over med, soggy toast, some frozen waffles, orange juice and a cup of lukewarm coffee. It has been like that for years. This will be the last year I will have a boy living in my home for Mothers' Day and I wouldn't miss this breakfast for anything. Every year, the shiny, excited faces as they wake me from my pretend sleep to eat and my feigned surprise as I smell the rose in the water glass and open my cards and present. Then we will go to church together and then I get to choose the rest of the day as to what we do. I don't have to do dishes or cook or clean. I point what I want them to do the entire day.....detail my car.....paint my bathroom.....clean out the refrig. are just a few of the ideas I am tossing around. .

Church, then relax. We're not big on the Hallmark holidays around here. Today is DH's birthday, which gets the full treatment. His birthday is always close to MD and trumps it, IMO.

First we're going to my oldest DS's college graduation, then we're having a bbq here to celebrate that and Mother's Day with just our immediate families and a few close friends. As some of you might remember, by son had an horrific accident last year, so his graduating is pretty remarkable. Happy Mother's Day to all!

After church I am taking my StepMom to lunch - she chose a local chain called Ralph's. I spoke to my son and his girl 9and chauffer) has to work so i won't see them until next Saturday. My Dh gave me his gift today - a new stand mixer so perhaps I will use it for a test mix tomorrow.

Taking my Mom out for lunch and just visiting with her. I love holidays, even Hallmark ones! (But I avoid buying Hallmark cards, lol!)

Going to my sister's house for a pool party and cook-out.
It beats fighting the crowds at the restaurants.
