I missed March when I went to see my Mom and April I was sick so I am excited to go. I know we've talked about this before but there are some new posters so who plays Bunco?

Do you put money in the pot? We have 12 players we each put in $6. Prizes for 1st and 2nd place and whomever loses the most hands gets a booby prize of $1. We also have a prize provided by the host for the most Buncos.

Do you potluck it? Whomever hosts that month brings the main course the rest bring sides or desserts.

Sometimes it takes soooo sooo long but for the most part it is a hoot!

I am psyched however at the FIRST BIKE NIGHT tonight!! It actually started three weeks ago however the weather has been CRAP!! It is 80 and ASWESOME!!

Be careful what you wish for.....

I've been playing for almost ten years. In our group, the hostess provides all the food and the prizes (five prizes). Some of the women keep the food really simple and others (like me) go a bit overboard. I really enjoy cooking and entertaining, though. We're at a different house each month. We don't do cash. In May, the prizes were pretty flower containers and plants. I'm hosting next and my prizes are usually Vera Bradley pieces.

ETA: we can only win one prize. Ours are: most buncos, most wins, most losses, travellers, and door prize

I play this every month and I am the host in June. We have a theme every month and mine is going to be "birthday". We potluck and every pays $5 for the prizes. The prizes are for most Buncos, last Bunco, most Snake Eyes, Most wins, and Most losses. We have a blast.

I have played bunco for years. I have been with this bunco group for about 5 years. We pay $10 a month to play. With that the person hosting buys 7 bunco prizes. They are for most buncos $32, 1st place $27, 2nd place $23, 3rd place $17, 4th place $13, last bunco $4 and boobie prize (least wins) $4. The prizes are usually gift cards. We are also allowed to win more than one prize. The hostess provides all the food and drinks. Good luck, and have fun. I hope you win.

We play with 16 when everyone shows, or 12 when we need to. We keep a sub list.

The prizes are winners, baby buncos, most buncos, and loser.

Loser gets a refund of the $5 they put into the bank. We all put in $5 each month, and we bring either an appetizer, dessert, or wine. Host keeps track of who's bringing what, and makes the main dish, and supplies snacks for each of the bunco playing tables.

We try to do themes each month. It's so much fun! I miss it when I can't make it!

We call it a "baby bunco" when you roll triples of the same thing, but it isn't the number you were supposed to be rolling for. A baby bunco adds 5 points to your score, and whoever has the most baby buncos gets the one gift that isn't money (hostess purchases this - usually something like candles or lotion, or something in the theme of the month)....

I guess not everyone plays this way??

Everyone puts in $10... we have a $50 prize for most buncos, $40 for most wins, $10 for most losses and $20 for the player who ends up with the fuzzy dice (it is passed around any time someone rolls three 2's.

I play. we play with 12 people and everybody puts up 5 bucks and we get 3 prizes. the most wins, loses, and buncos win a prize. the hostess pays for the food. you only have host bunco once every 12 months and we break for summer.

My friend and I tied for third place so we rolled for the prize. She won but we go together and we always split the prize so it would've been the same either way. It is so fun I can't wait until next month.
