Sort of.

I live in a log home. The front door is handcarved, on both sides of the glass.....is a beautiful carving of a buck. Stained in the same color as the house. My shutters are also hand made/carved and one side of the window shutter has a buck carved in it, the other side is a doe (each window has a doe and a buck). The shutters are painted hunter green, with the deer heads stained the same as the door/house.

So yeah I guess technically they match.

Our front door is bright red, our shutters are black.

So no, we don't match.

My shutters are brown and my door is white. But I'm thinking of painting my door brown -- that's one of my summer projects.

No. Our shutters are dark green and our front door is a deep red (house is gray). If the house is small, I think it looks better when the door and shutters are the same color IMO.

Did you think the question was going to be "Does the carpet match the drapes?"

(Sorry, I was watching Office reruns the other day and it just popped into my head, LOL)

Yes - our house is a darker taupe color and our door and shutters are both black.

I think most everyone in our subdivision has matching shutters & front doors...some are stained, some are painted.

Yup. Both are "colonial blue." The house came that way and we haven't bothered to change it. It looks fine, so we probably never will. We are pretty lazy when it comes to decorating. Our rule is, "if it isn't broken, don't fix it."

Our shutters are dark green, front door is white.

I automatically thought "Does the carpet match the drapes?" too.

yes, both are the same color. It's called Dark Ash. I call it greenish, greyish tan color. The house is brick. At our other house, brick also, it has brown shutters and a tan front door.

Someday I really dream of having a red house with black or white shutters.

I realized I forgot to answer the question. Our house is a cypress green, we have black shutters and our door is white but it is mostly a large panel of glass with nickel designwork.

We don't have shutters, so no matching there. And now I'm hoping no one manages to take that as a euphemism!

I also have dark green shutters but our front door is a deep orange. I prefer an accent color for the front door-very inviting!
