My daughter won a scholarship to go to Costa Rica for two weeks. She leaves June 12th. If you've ever been and have any advice to offer, please post. Her advisor told her that everything's "so much cheaper" in Costa Rica, but what I'm seeing on the 'net is that yes, that's true, but the taxes are so high it's actually more expensive than in the States.

I haven't but really want to. I've heard the zip line if super cool if she can do it. I've heard the bugs are bad as well.

My daughter flew back to the states from Costa Rica earlier this week. She had a great time, and did get to do the Zipline. She also bungee jumped! I'm so glad she didn't tell me she was bungee jumping until after she actuall did it!

She's thrilled with her experience, and wants to go back. She had a wonderful family that really helped her become more confident with her Spanish. Anyone want to read her blog? It's posted at Costa Rica.

Kid's MUCH more traveled than I am

Close friend went to CR several years ago, loved it.
Then again. she is a PHD academician and was most impressed w/the literacy rate in CR, one of the highest of all countries.
What she *didn 't* like was the rascism there, especially against Scandinavian tour ships' personnel, but not limited to them
