Would you do it??

Former President George H.W. Bush has celebrated his 85th birthday by skydiving over the coast of Maine.

Bush made a tandem jump Friday with a member of the Army's Golden Knights parachute team onto a landing zone near a church in Kennebunkport, where Bush has a summer home.

All of Bush's children, including former President George W. Bush, were on hand for the jump.

Bush's most recent jump was in November 2007 at the reopening of his library at Texas A&M University. He made his first jump as a Navy pilot when his plane was shot down over the Pacific during World War II. He also made jumps to mark his 75th and 80th birthdays and on two other occasions.

So, would you do it? I just watched the video on the news. It was pretty cool!
I would do it!!!!

No way! I would only jump from an airplane if it was going to crash. I have a friend who loves to do this, but not me.

I see no reason to exit a fully functioning airplane.

I can think of 100 better ways to get a thrill!

My daughter did when she was in college and told me about it later. There are photos and perhaps a video. I can't stand heights and just looking at the pictures made me dizzy. So I think the chances of me jumping out of or off of anything higher than two feet off the ground is very very remote. And even then I would need someone to hold my hand..lol..

Heck no! I can barely get myself into an airplane 'cause I'm so afraid to fly. Just the thought of jumping out of one gives me the heebiejeebies!

I was going to buy my dh a "jump" for his birthday a few years ago. I went to the company's website that offers skydiving by us and on the first page were condolence to the families of their crew and customers that had been involved in a crash. Apparently two days before, one of their planes crashed, it was the first fatal indecent in all the years they'd been in business (don't remember how long exactly, but it was awhile) I decided to get him an xbox instead.

Been there, done that and had a jacket to prove it. I have 4 static line jumps and one tandem jump logged from two different drop zones.

HECK NO!!!!! I am terrified of heights but really wish I could get past my fear to do this just once! I am envious and impressed that, at 85, he has more courage than me.

No way. I like planes, but I'm terrified of high, open spaces.

I once dated a Army Ranger and he was jumping all the time. He loved it. I guess it's kind of addicting or something.

Good for Mr. Bush. I hope I'm that willing to do exciting things when I'm 85!

Frankly, I thought his comment about "drooling in the corner" was pretty tasteless. There are a lot of elderly people who are incapacitated and would love to not be "drooling in the corner." Besides, even if they aren't and would like to skydive, they probably don't have the luxury of being tethered to a Golden Knight. (Did taxpayers pay for that, btw?)

No way for me. I am like the above poster I can't see jumping out of a perfectly good plane. I will say I admire the man for his courage because I could never do it.

I would love to but I'd be afraid of bugs smashing into my face and hurting my legs on impact.
