Other than the one my nephew starred in (high school production), I don't recall having a favorite. My husband and I cried tears of boredom in Les Miserables (in Boston) and walked out before it was over. I saw a Rogers & Hammerstein show on Broadway once and hated it. I forget which one it was. When I was about 13, my sister and I went to see Godspell. We didn't walk out or want to, so I guess that is my favorite. LOL, since I'm an atheist and was then too! Edited to change Jesus Christ Superstar to Godspell. I got my Jesus plays mixed up!

| Oh, I forgot Cats! I saw Cats in London with another sister. It was pretty bad, but held our interest because we loved the British accents and the theater was so tiny, the actors mingled in the audience a lot. One of the cats "licked" my hair. (She did something to my hair from behind me to make it feel like she was licking it. My sister and I still crack up about that.)

Probably Jesus Christ Superstar. I saw the Broadway cast when they came to Boston before it opened in NYC. The play was held at the old Boston Garden and, because of very little publicity, there were only a couple of thousand people there to see it. We were all near the stage. It was amazing. Not really a play but my absolute favorite show done on the stage was Riverdance.

Tommy was one of my favorites. I can't really pick one. I LOVED Fiddler on the roof and Grease, too. Hmmm, maybe Damn Yankees was my favorite....there is no favorite, I guess.

Loved: Rent, Phantom of the Opera, A Chorus Line, Godspell Hated: Cats A Prelude to a Kiss -- just OK but it had a lot of fairly famous cast members when we saw it (almost twenty years ago) so that was cool.

Living so close to Los Angeles has some perks. I adore the theatre and have seen some awesome shows and some real stinkers. I absolutely love the music in Wicked. I have many soundtracks but I listen to Wicked more than any of the rest. Beauty and the Beast was amazing. Phantom was always a favorite but the last time I saw it (last Fall) the acting and singing wasn't that great so I'm not interested in seeing it again anytime soon. I want to see Mary Poppins. I hope it makes its way here soon.

| To each his own, as they say. I loved the movie(saw it many times) and the musical.

I put plays and musicals in two different categories. I usually only see musicals. Les Mis and Porgy and Bess are my top two favorites. I loved Chicago but I only saw the movie, not a stage presentation. Cats and Phantom were fun once, but they are not something I want to see over and over. Once every 5 or 10 years is enough. Andrew Lloyd Weber is so stingy with his songs. He usually has one good song in each musical and the rest are throw-aways tunes. That's why I like the older musical and Les Mis. There's not a bad song in Porgy and Bess or Les Mis. jujubee I must have been at the same theater. We saw it near the end of its run and there is such a thing as being too close to the action. When you can see whether they've plucked their nose hair and hear the thunk of the feet landing two feet from your face on stage, you are, for sure, too close. We were there, in London, about a month after 9-11 and there weren't a lot of filled seats that night. Luckily that was my second or third time seeing it, so I had already seen a really first class road production here in St. Louis. But part of the fun was just being at the theater. Boy I just kept thinking about fire and looking for the exits the whole time I was there. |

I just saw the play "To Kill a Mockingbird" with Matthew Modine starring as Atticus Finch. It was really intense. I thought it would be hard to translate from a book and award-winning movie to a play. As far as musicals, I've seen several on Broadway, and loved them. The most recent I saw was "Spamalot" with Clay Aiken. LOVED it. Also saw The Lion King, Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast (When Debbie Gibson was Belle), and others mentioned already.

LOVED Lion King on Broadway. That would have had to be my favorite. I really liked A Chours Line, also Streetcar Named Desire (off-broadway with Jessica Lange and Alec Baldwin). Les Mis depressed me too much, didn't care for it. Miss Saigon was also depressing, but good. Growing up in NY, I was so fortunate to be able to see shows frequently. My friends and I would get 1/2 price tickets on the day of a show and see lots, both on and off Broadway. I couldn't even remember all of the shows I saw. |

A few years ago our family went to a play in Colonial Williamsburg called The Guardian. It was wonderful! It was done as a play would have been done back in Colonial days. I laughed so hard, we had a great time!
