Just want to share something I saw last night

As most of you know I went to the Trace Adkins/Toby Keith concert last night and those of you who told me that they put on a great show were absolutely right, the show was amazing However, I saw something last night while waiting online to get in that made a few of us on line tear up. Where I was there was a group of maybe 15-20 people, and there was a family standing a little ways away because they were letting their kids play (the kids looked about 6 and 4) A guy was walking by in his military uniform (he had on a beret but I am not sure which branch of service) The little boy (who was about 4) stopped playing, ran up to the guy stuck out his little hand and said " You are my hero will you come meet my family" The guy bent down and shook the little boys hand and then went over with the little boy to meet the little boys family and even took a picture with the 2 kids at the little boys request. After he was done talking to the family we all learned that the guy had just returned home from being deployed.

Great story. Its nice to hear that this young man realized who the true heros and role models are. I get so tired of all the actors, singers and sport stars being called heros. Too many end up being terrible role models for our children.

Thanks for the Story. A lot of Military go to Toby's concerts, his encore is always American Soldier and Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue and a lot of times he brings the military on stage with him. One of the many reasons I am proud of Toby. I know Trace is good to the military. I haven't seen him in concert yet and looks like I won't this year because the only Toby concert I am going to is Vegas and Jack Ingram is going to be there. I was So Hoping to see Trace.

FWIW, I think that the beret is worn by soldiers (Army). Besides, according to my Marine buddies, they would not wear uniforms to a public event.....they have discipline. LOL....so competitive!

Nice story. Thanks for sharing.

What a heart warming story. And especially that a child of that age showing such respect. It also says a lot for his family and the upbringing his is getting.
