| Crappy, crappy day
So, remember back in January I posted that I was getting ready to have knee surgery and I was terrified of being put to sleep? And that the surgery itself went well, but was a lot more involved than it was supposed to be? And that I was on crutches for 9 weeks?
Well...I went back for a repeat MRI last week because I was still having trouble. Finally made it back to the doctor's office today only to find out that part of the frigging surgery failed. Apparently, it happens a lot with this kind of repair...they try to repair the menicus first cause that's the best thing to do and if that fails, then they remove it. So, it looks like I get to have mine removed.
I work for a nonprofit during the week, and clean houses on the weekends and after work to help make ends meet, so I told my doctor there was NO WAY I could do this surgery before winter (I'm busiest in the summer)...only to have him tell me that I risk more extensive damage if I wait. He says if the torn part of the menicus flips up between the joint, the bones of the joint will wear against it causing further arthritis.
I know things could be so much worse, but I was in SO much pain after this surgery for so long. They actually did seven procedures in one, because the damage was so extensive, and the menicus repair was the only part that failed, but I just don't want to face this all over again. Not to mention the fact that I'm out of sick leave, out of vacation time, and have no one to take over my houses while I recover.
I'm so incredibly bummed out if this wasn't one of my busiest weekends, I'd go to bed and sleep for three days.
