Unhappy Has Anyone Heard of Leigh's Disease?

A friend of mine just told me that one of her twin grandsons has Leigh's Disease. The little guy is only 4 months old. It is fatal and there is no cure. I've been doing some reading online about it and it's awful. She was telling me this morning that he could live a week, a month or a year. The longest is a year or so. I think this would be heartbreaking. She said they noticed he wasn't growing like the other twin and was smaller. I have never heard of Leigh's Disease before this.

Has anyone had a child or know of a child that has been diagnosed with this? She is just heartbroken.
