Ok..LOL I am going to vote Democrat because they say they are against the war.. but guess what they are sending us straight into another one. Democrat sponsors of Congressional Resolution 362 (introduced on May 22, 2008), and Senate resolution 580 (introduced June 2, 2008) which will probably come up to a vote after the holiday. Rep. Ron Paul Assails Congress's ''Virtual Iran War Resolution'' | BaltimoreChronicle.com This will probably send gas prices soaring even higher as soon as it is passed. |

I do check the facts. H. Con. Res. 362 - Rep. Gary Ackerman [D-NY] S. Res. 580 - Sen. Evan Bayh [D-IN] (I think this person has been mentioned as a possible VP pick for obama) The foreign policy of Ron Paul is not isolationism..that is what we have today! He wants free and open trade with EVERY country. |

| I did listen to the whole thing. Most of it is so twisted around it is funny. The Republican party has changed alot over the years..that is why some are trying to change and take back the Republican party to its basic principlies. Less government. |

And S. Res 580? As of today has more Republican co-sponsors than Democratic co-sponsors. Quote:

Edited to add link sponsoring and cosponsoring legislation: Information and Much More from Answers.com "The sponsors of a bill are its principal authors. Bills often take their sponsors' names, such as the Gramm-Rudman-Hollings Act, known for its three Senate sponsors, or the Humphrey-Hawkins Act, known for its chief sponsors in the Senate and House of Representatives. To demonstrate the popularity of a bill and to gather further support, sponsors will send out “Dear Colleague” letters, circulating the bill among other members and urging them to cosponsor it. The names of sponsors and cosponsors are printed at the top of each bill and in the Congressional Record." The bottom line is that Democrats say one thing and do another. That are against a war but vote to fund a war. Nonintervention is not the same as isolationism I will not be on much today. So, I do not have the time today to argue the different points. Hope everyone has a Happy 4th! Last edited by forrestlayne; 07-04-2008 at 12:11 PM. Reason: to add link |

Democrats voted to fund a war that was presented to them as a total lie--not just a misrepresentation The facts put out there were KNOWN to be false by those puttingout the information. The problems was that the Dems made the mistake placing their trust in the words of these presenting the "facts", something they are now sorry they did, I am sure.

Scoop: Ex Weapons Inspector: US Will Attack Iran "In 2002, Scott Ritter, the former Chief United Nations Weapons Inspector In Iraq, publicly accused the Bush administration of lying to Congress and the public about assertions that Iraq was hiding a chemical and biological weapons arsenal. By speaking out publicly, Ritter emerged as one of the most prominent whistleblowers... is speaking out about what he sees as history repeating itself regarding U.S. policy toward Iran and the inevitability of a U.S.-led attack on the country." "Resolution 362 introduced by Congressman Gary Ackerman, a New York Democrat, has 170 Democratic and Republican co-sponsors. The bill "demands that the president initiate an international effort to immediately and dramatically increase the economic, political, and diplomatic pressure on Iran to verifiably suspend its nuclear enrichment activities by, inter alia, prohibiting the export to Iran of all refined petroleum products; imposing stringent inspection requirements on all persons, vehicles, ships, planes, trains, and cargo entering or departing Iran; and prohibiting the international movement of all Iranian officials not involved in negotiating the suspension of Iran’s nuclear program.” The resolution calls on President Bush to impose "stringent inspection requirements on all persons, vehicles, ships, planes, trains, and cargo entering or departing Iran” "Ritter said the public would likely become more outspoken on the Bush administration’s policies toward Iran if they understood how an attack on Iran could lead to an economic collapse here at home. “You have to talk about what’s going to happen to the price of oil, the price of food. People have to focus on that. Iran does not pose a threat whatsoever to the average American. We’ve got this hyped up threat. We need people to understand that they are being sold a bill of goods. There is no threat. Our welfare is going out the door right now because of this policy." |

I read it. It still doesn't support your allegation that the bills you cite are evidence that the Democrats will support a war against Iran. I don't doubt BUSH wants to go to war against Iran. Hell, Bush would go to war against Canada if he could, he's simply a warmonger. Ritter's being disingenuous to claim that the Americans wouldn't support a war in Iran if they knew the facts. Most Americans already don't support a war in Iran, just like they don't support the war in Iraq. Bush lied, Mr. Ritter? Duh! |

I'm voting Republican because, gosh that Dick Cheney is just so darned cute and sexy??? And last of all, I'm voting Republican because if McCain is president I'll never have to take a sleeping pill for my insomnia??? I can just listen to him for a few minutes. I'm yawning just thinking about it. |

I'm voting Republican because I hate this country and want to see it run in the ground as fast as possible. I don't think that any woman has the right to decide what happens to her body. I think we need to attack Iran based on a bunch of lies. After all, our nose is out of joint. I believe that the rich don't have nearly enough money. I just don't believe in facts. |

Iran will probably see these severe sanctions placed against them as an "act of war" and will try to protect itself. In the very least we can except the price of oil/gas to go up. Just based of the fear factor of possible war. Some experts have predicted gas will rise to $6 per gallon if the resolution passes. |

| Quote:
Part of the reason that the speculators are driving up the price of gas would be the constant threats against Iran. (Look at a map) Bush won't go to congress; he'll just nuke Iran. We have to see who wins out. Cheney wants to nuke Iran very badly. Condi is trying to hold him off. |

Anyway it will be interesting to see how Obama and McCain vote on the Senate bill. |
